Floorboard is rusting in my 94 geo metro - 1994 Geo Metro

EGR stuck open is #1 stall failure.

Why would you not go to the auto parts store,buy what you need,return home and install it yourself.

You must have lost your mind,if you think that a junk yard exhaust system is anything but rusted metal.

you should check a throttle body valve or purge valve, choke valve

if it is the same size ye but you will have to swap sensors over due to the 96 being obd2

An automatic transmission on a 94 Geo Metro takes Dexron II (or higher- ie Dexron III etc) type transmission fluid only.

Unless you have replaced the hood or the sticker has been removed, there should be a label on the inside of your hood that lists the correct timing.

Make sure you short the two appropriate wires in the 'test plug' before setting the timing. It's on the drivers side firewall under the hood. The idle on 94 Metros is automatically controlled so you don't have to worry about setting the idle before adjusting the timing. My 94 automatic metro says 5BTC.

First you must loosen where the cable goes to the tranny and it will give you moor playing room when connecting it .
You cannot connect it from under the hood it must be done from under the dash.
Be sure to push the seat all the way back.

I have a 97 Geo metro with a broken key inside the ignition. I have removed the column cover and have access to it but don't know how to remove the switch

As long as they are the same type of engine ( I believe they should both be 1.0L 3 cyl engines). Most parts for the Geo Metro from 1992 to 1994 interchange with out a problem.

get the altenator tested also get the battery load tested
