Ac, altenator & crank pully alignment

The crank pulley is a 2 piece part, the outer pulley "ring" is insulated from the inner pulley by a special sandwiched rubber ring. The outer pulley on may "walk" off the inner pulley due to engine vibration, this is most common on 4 cylinder engines. The crank pulley is the only pulley that can do this.

Oil pan gasket and front crank seal replacement on 2000 dodge 2500 van 5.2l

Drain coolant, pull radiator, fan shroud off.Need a fan tool to get that off.Need to pull ac,alt,ps and brackets off. to expose front of engine. Need crank pulley puller. Once that's done the timing cover can be removed. Hint, spring for a new timing set. loosen engine mounts and lift engine at bell-housing remove oil pan bolts.and reverse.Might as well replace oil pump if you intend to keep the van.

I have a 1984 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton with V8 318. It has dealer installed a/c also air pump. It looks like it takes at least three belts, maybe four. The truck has been stored for a while and I am not sure that...

You should have a belt routing decal in the engine bay somewhere or under the hood. If the belts are on now and lined up, adjust as needed. If they won't adjust anymore replace with 1 inch shorter belts. The power steering and the air pump usually take seperate belts. The air pump don't take much to power, they usually run off the third groove on the water pump. A/C, Alt. and PS will all run around the crank. Hope this helps some, if not you might could find a Haynes repair manual at the parts store.

I need a picture of how a serpentine belt goes on. For a 2002 toyota camry 2.4L, 16 valve

i do not have a picture but i can try to explain it to you.it will almost be the shape of an hour glass so here we go. put belt around alt to ps pump backside of belt up around the tensioner then around crank pulley then around ac compressor then the backside of belt up and around water pump.i have found that 2 people is better to do the job because the tensioner is so hard to get to and once you get the belt up to the w-pump i will take it off the alt then put around water pump and hold the belt with one hand and pull the tensioner with the other hand and then slip the belt on the alt. this is a stubborn belt to put on. good luck and i hope this info helped let me know........if i can help in any other way let me know........

I need to replace the alternator belt on my 1992 mazda 929

Find The Alt. Loosen But Don't Remove All Nuts Bolts That Look Like They Might Be Holding It On.

Disconnect The Neg Battery Cable From The Battery First.

The Alt. Should Pivot Back And Forth / Up And Down. Look At It And Notice How It Travels In An Arc. This Is How You Establish The Correct Tension When You Tighten The Bolts With The New Belt Installed. Use A Long Screwdriver As A Lever To Get The Tension And Tighten The Bolts With The Other.

Pretty Simple.

I Think The Outside Belt Drives The Water Pump And Alternator And The Inside Belt Drive The Ac And Ps Pump. If Your Belt Is On The Inside You Need To Loosen The Ps Pump And Take That Belt Off First.

Someone once told me a damaged power steering pump can cause a car to idle lower than normal due to the fact that it runs off the engine belt, and can cause a vehicle to have rough running issues. But I...

hmmm.. no true experiance with this but if the PS pump is turning hard do to damage, it could drag the engine down. depending on the condition of the other pullies in the system (crank, alternator, A/C etc) it could cause the belt to slip on the crank pully which might cause other pullies to turn slow.. but that would be really odd. Usually it is not the crank pully that slips....

What else is going on?

Surpentine belt.

depends on which v8 you have....the 4.7 the routing is as follows it goes under the waterpump pully over the alternator down and around the power steering pumpto the crank...it goes under the bottom of the crank to the idler pully.the flat side of the belt goes ver the idler then around the automatic tensioner to the ac compressor.
on the 5.2 and 5.9 it routes starting at the idler pully the flat side goes undr the idler the up to the ac compressor around the compressor and down to the power steering pump ... around power stering pump to waterpump where the flat side is against waterpump pully around water pump down and around crank up it automatic tensioner....around tensioner and up and over alternator
