I lost my keys while riding my motorcycle and can't find spare set... I have average mechanical skills and was wondering if it is possible for someone like me to change out my ignition switch
First you have to be sure you car does not have an transponder key system , that is a chip inside the head of the key that sends a four digit code to a reciver in the car and activates the ignition so you can start the car, call the dealer and give them your vin number they should be able to tell you if you have this or not, another way to tell is remove the plactice trim around the steering colum and look around the ignition for a coil of wire this is the recivier antenna, if you have this system your only option is to get the car to honda to have a key made and they will reporgram the transponder key system, otherwise while you have the trim off take a look at it and you will know if you can handle it, and if you have the tools to tackle it. not very difficult if it is a normal honda non tranponder setup, but i think you may have the transponder good luck -jeff
