Question about 1998 Volvo S70
Check for problems with the mass airflow sensor, oxygen sensors, and coolant temperature sensor. If the mass air sensor is bad or malfunctioning, it can cause the computer to add too much or too little fuel and create a problem (ditto for the oxygen sensors). A coolant temp sensor that is going bad may tell the car's computer that the car is cold when it isn't, and if so, the fueling will be wrong.
