SOURCE: can i put size 31 tires on my 1994 stock jeep

Not really. There is not a lot of room in the inner guard area and when turning they will rub.Without lifting the springs, you can't put to much larger tyres on.Hope this helps

Smoking and burning rubber smell coming from around right rear tire

ok jack up the right rear tire look at the inside ot the tire as you slowly rotate the tire also look for any signs that something is rubbing against the tire. if you must remove the tire and check to see if the spring in the strut is broken and rubbing against the tire. I ran into this problem before and the spring in the strut was broke shifted against the tire and caused it to rub the tire causing smoke. let me know we will keep trying to find the cause

I have a 2009 Jeep Commander. Tyre size is 245/65/17 (Goodyear Wrangler) I want to put 265/65/17 BF Goodrich tyres on the vehicle. Can I do this and will it affect the vehicle badly in any way?

The tire that you're considering is ~20mm or 3/4" wider than the stock tire. You shouldn't experience any negative issues with this tire. If the tire were taller / shorter, you might have speedometer calibration issues or rubbing of the fenders while cornering or going over bumps, but this isn't the case here.

Good luck.

Rubing noise when turning. had power steering checked and was good. i can hear it comming from steering. sounds dry, any grease zerks?

As far as the grease fittings are concerned, you should have between 2 to 6 fittings. 1 on each upper control arm, 1 on each tie rod, and possibly 2 on the center links. If you are hearing a rubbing noise, it could possible be the wheels rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. Alot of people like to put bigger tires on 4x4's to add give them extra clearance off the ground, specifically for off roading. But with the bigger tires could also come a wider tire, causing the rubbing. Have your tire dealer check for correct tire size.

I have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport with factory rims whats the biggest tire i can use without rubbing thank you for your input todd

the bigger tire you put on up above 235/75/15 will change the handling of your jeep and will wear out the front steering an suspension parts.I've seen what 31/10-50/15 have done to several jeeps. It just takes the life out of a jeep, even by putting the correct tires back on afterwards when they have traded it in where I work,The handling is not there any more.

Front drive line will engauge but front tires will not,88 jeep wrangler

I would suggest from your description that there are several possibilities.
1. Broken input PINION SHAFT.
To check,
Get underneath and see how much that front Driveline rotates in each direction, More than 1/4 Turn is excessive backlash....Problem!!!
If it rotates freely...possible Broken PInion Shaft.
Raise the front wheels off the ground.Secure the Front drive line, get a friend to hang onto it, and wedge a foot against 1 front wheel, now try and rotate it. If it does, then that is the Junk one. Likewise, if it does not, then repeat on the other side. If that is OK, then it has to be the Transfer Box
Then you have a bigger problem.
