dear ledsled378 ya-I dont dought your comments one single bit. i never had a chip (many) yet that i had to hardwire in. i will check in with the forums as to what they say as well. as far as my question goes( and 20.00 worth, )....can you still answer the original question as to the wire colors that i may... or may not have to use to hook up this piece of cra....... thank you for your honestity. beaf 2

your answer unceptable ! if there are 3-4 wires to pick from they would say so. i do know atleast 2 wires will go to the IAT. maybe 2 wires to the elect throttle control and/or a combination of wires to the ECM or a combination to all or part. you are listed as an expert, atleast thats what i thought i was paying for.if you cant answer my question ,please say so.since my question wasnt answered maybe you can research it in a reasonable time, other wise i would like my money back. respectfully......beaf2

ledshed378 i am waiting for your responds as to IAT ( 2 wires ) i am not going away. . are you going to research which wires or color code goes to the IAT ? THATS WHAT I PAID FOR thanks BEAF2

good morning ledsshed378 these instructions they sent mention not a thing about reference wire or where to splice just says....find 2 wires that have 5 volt. i just thought you would know which 2 wires(being a toyota expert). the plug at the MAP has 5 mentioned middle wire ( reference wire ) so it sounds like i would make my connections to wire # 3( middle)and other lead wire to #2 or# 4 wire at the plug.does this sound sabbi ? any case G-FORCE office has been closed during holidays.i was hoping for instant help FROM FIXYA. i would rather NOT give thanks for nothing, but instead give THANKS for your help. BEAF 2

ledsled378 yes ! i will be calling them monday- AM, but before i trash the G-FORCE idea ,would you please SIMPLY explain to me how this so called chip works (or resistor ?) and if possible-can you recommend another chip under 250.00$. when i hear back from you i will accept it as " solution accepted " thanks beaf2

ledsled 378 this is my last post and i do know you are probley busy. i believe you totally read my last post in the wrong way. i simply wanted to wait for your response- not knowing if I would get it- if i pushed the "accept this solution button" i am not trying to be a pain in the ****, but simply trying to understand the MAP/IAT wiring .ive been on the G-FORCE forums and have not yet read any negitive talk about it .most seem to be satified with it for the buck $. you have been the only one that totally runs it in the ground. G-FORCE is a very well known company. i just cant believe they dont work when they conitinue selling them w/ a 1 year customer satifaction guar. my only problem was i didnt understand the instructions and thats why i called FIXYA NOTHING MORE OR LESS. ive gained not a thing.

I'm going to be very honest with you. The so called chip that you purchased is nothing more than a .25 cent resistor. If you splice the wire and install this resistor, you are going to create more issues with reference voltages to the PCM in the long run. Why did it not come with complete instructions to help guide you thru this process??? Hummmm....seems unusual, don't you think?
If this resistor was able to do what it claims, then why hasn't Toyota incorporated it into there circuits?? It would have saved them a lot of time and engineering costs to achieve the results it claims to have, no? I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I just don't like people installing bogus resistors in the their IAT circuits. Check out some of the forums on the net, and read the postings from some of these guy's, you will see what I mean. if you do decide to post a reply on one of these forums, don't say you want to install this resistor, just say you want more info about it, otherwise they will respond with insulting remarks and laugh you off the site.

That is the problem. Regardless of the wire color, There is no correct wire to place this resistor to. They claim to splice it into a 5 volt wire, take your pick. Thanks for understanding my reply.

  • GetMeOttaHere Jan 01, 2011

I'm not going anywhere. The IAT has three wires. The middle wire is the reference wire and is were they say this thing should splice into. As for the colors, I do not know right at this moment, but it doesn't matter, all sensors have a 5 volt constant, a ground and a reference, the reference is always the middle wire.

  • GetMeOttaHere Jan 01, 2011

Good morning. G Force should be the one to tell you what wire. I do know that it should not be connected to a volt constant, the sensor needs 5 volts all the time and a resister will on this 5 volt supply will change the 5 volt supply., I'm really not sure where they recommend placement and your going to have to contact G force and let them back there product up with techincal aptitude. Like I stated in the beginning, forget this so called chip.

  • GetMeOttaHere Jan 01, 2011

I did explain how the chip works. "it does not work". When you purchased it, what was the reason? Fuel mileage improvement? What did G force tell ya??? I am helping other's at this time with starting and running problems. You do not have to accept my solution. I was just trying to give you a heads up, nothing more or less.

Where is iat sensor located on 2006 tpyota tacoma 4,ol ?

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor are combined into a single assembly which is called Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. This MAF sensor is located on the air filter box near air filter hose, and is connected with a five wire connector. You cannot replace the IAT sensor alone. Instead a MAF sensor is replaced altogether.

Where is iat sensor on 2006 toyota tacoma 4.ol 4door located ?

This is the 2001-2012 Toyota Tacoma wiring diagram, Toyota Tacoma IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor Location and the Toyota Tacoma MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor Location, also included is a pinout of the sensor. You are likely installing a performance chip or a cold air intake kit for increased HP (Horsepower). You will want to be sure to disconnect the car battery before adding performance products.

Here is the Toyota Tacoma's Iat sensor diagram:

I want to know which IAT wires to tie into for my new performance Chip. I have a 1994 Toyota 4-Runner with the 3.0 Motor. Thank you. Oh yeah, there are 6 wires that I found. Only 2 go to the IAT.

That chip is a waste of time and money, and your mileage is going to suffer. Why dont the instructions tell you which wires? The THA terminal is wire color Yellow/Black. the E2 wire is Brown/Black.
