Hyundai santa fe 2001

1 jolts from 2nd - 3rd or visa versa
2a then check engine light comes on
2b only 2nd and 3rd gear accessible
2c codes that appear are p0715 and p1529
3 after 1 day or so resets and CEL goes off
4 back to normal until cycle repeats
5 The garage changed the speed sensor (located under airfilter)
6 problem seemed to disappear, but only for 1 day
7 HELP!!!
Santa Fe 2.7 V6 (2001)
Jolts from 2nd to 3rd then locks in 3rd.

Report from garage; Fault code P1529; TCM MIL signal fault. (Gearbox to main ECU).
They're not sure where to start invistigating the fault and may have to do complete overal. Do you have any direct cure? Also do you have wiring circuit diagram that is centred around this problem.
Please help.

FC P1529 means "Check TCM"

  • the vehicle is stuck in 3rd gear failsafe, this is what happens when there is a trans fault, but you made a big mistake.
  • you replaced the wrong sensor you put in a vehicle speed sensor wich calculates the rpm and speed of vehicle,,
  • your problem is an input and out put speed sensor wich is also located on top of the trans these sensors measure the speed of the input and out put shafts inside of the trans mission,,
  • you probably will not be able to get these sensors aftermarket, dealer item only i think

I am sorry the above codes is general error code , the error your getting is car specific hence the codes where not there in the list:

    P0715

    Input speed sensor system

If no output pulse is detected from the input shaft speed (PG-A) sensor
for 1 second or more while driving in 3rd or 4th gear at a speed of 30
km/h or more, it is judged to be an open or short circuit . In the
input shaft speed sensor and diagnosis code P0715 is output. If
diagnosis code P0715 is output four times, the transmission is locked
    into 3rd gear (D range) or 2nd gear as a fail-safe measure

    P1529

TCM MIL request signal, this code sets in the computer engine control module when there is a transmission fault code

Car will not shift out of 1st gear

Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
