Bank 1 sensor too lean. swapped all 4 o2 sensors and MAF sensor. Idles rough and stalls

The Fords have problems with crankcase vent pipe failing (the rubber 90 degree elbows). The rubber rots and will cause a vacuum leak.

Well the o2 sensors will not cause it to run like that, all they eill cause is an excessive use of fuel. try to clean out the throttle body and the IAC (Idle Air Control) sensor, these areas get pretty dirty and gunky, and cause the idle to be abnormal causing the computer to get incorrect readings from the mas sensor etc....

1.4L turbo CEL P0171 P015B P1101 replaced bank 1&2 o2 sensors MAF sensor and all 4 spark plugs idles at 700rpm now roughly getting 20mpg instead of 48mpg anyone have any ideas?


There is no code P015B. Also you may have a actual lean condition and there was nothing wrong with the old part. Check for engine vacuum leaks while you monitor the output voltage from the O2 sensors. 1.0 volt is very rich fuel, .25 Volt and lower is very lean. The sensors should go back and forth with an average voltage of about .55 volts.

What is p0171 p0174?


P0171 Fuel trim bank one condition Lean (If bank one and two codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF sensor. Or O2 sensor defective
P0174Fuel trim bank two condition Lean (same as above or Failed H02S21 Heated O2 sensor Bank 2 sensor 1)

Changed both o2 sensors still rough idle and codes p2195 and p2197 still there


P2195 & 97 is a lean condition reported by both O2
on right side

The pcm drove the fuel trim lean to correct for a over
rich condition on right bank only due to a leaking fuel
injector most likely

That is a common problem on an expedition with 5.4

I have seen people find & replace the bad injector
I would mail all of them away to be ultra-sonicly cleaned
& flow tested if it were mine

If you have a professional scan tool or software you woulod
see the issue on fuel trim.

The MAF is common to both banks & you only have an issue
on the right side so the MAF is okey

Your plugs should give some indication of the bad injector
if that is the case

Need details on brakes!!

Idles rough and low intermittently. Stalls occaisionally. Error code P1137 pulled off of the computer. 2001 Alero, 2.4L Automatic trans


P1137 is HO2S Bank 1 Sensor 2 Lean Or Low Voltage. Oxygen sensor is reading a "lean condition". This code probably is stored from the rough and low idling. So it sounds like you maybe having other issues causing this P1137 code to come up. For lean conditions read this:
1. Vacuum leaks - check for failed or loose vacuum lines, leaking intake gaskets, intake air tubes loose or any other source of un-metered air leaks (leaks after the Mass Air Flow Sensor)
2. Restricted fuel filter or bent/pinched fuel system lines
3. Incorrect input from other sensors, such as the Mass Air Flow Sensor/cam or crank sensors, which may not always drop a separate code
4. Engine misfire ? Yes I know this one may seem weird. You might think that if there is a misfire then you will have all that unburned fuel and it should read rich; right? Well the O2 sensors read only oxygen content in the exhaust, so if you have all that unburned fuel from incomplete combustion then, you guessed it, you also have all that unburned oxygen. High O2 content in exhaust equals a lean reading!

P0137 o2 circuit low voltage bank 1 sensor 2 --o2 sensor after the cat converter -check for faulty o2 sensor -short or open circuit exhaust leak near sensor or plugged cat converter ----P0171 and P0174 -system too lean bank 1--and system too lean bank 2 they are usually from the same problem which can be caused from the o2 problem but check ur maf sensor connections and or clean if necessary[carb cleaner] vacuum leak downstream from maf sensor also inspect pcv lines

Bank one is toward the front of the vehicle. Sounds like the heated oxygen sensors have gone bad. The Oxygen Sensors are located in the exhaust pipe and require a special socket to remove and replace.
