Trying to recharge my a/c on my own, and can only find the one connector for charging right at the front top of the a/c line, but apparently thats not the one the connector fits, and there is supposedly another connection, but where??? Wasting a/c recharging trying to put it in from the top front one cause the connector is too big and doesnt stay on.
On my 89 tempo there is a pressure line under the plastic cover over the radiator the other is on the right side of the car(passenger side) real close to the the fire wall that is the A/C accumulator look down just past the shock tower. please be careful there is a connector there but if you put the refregerent in the wrong place it can be very dangerous and could explode

When a rechargeable battery does not want to charge, it could be a bad charger, bad cable, bad battery or bad connectors. Or a combination of them. Please try to exclude every one, by using a replacement or spare, if you don't have a multimeter to check connections in cables and connectors.
Find the low pressure switch it should be on the same line that you are attempting to do the charge. Remove its connector and place a wire or paper clip across the contacts, this will allow the compessor to run. Make sure you monitor the low side pressure while charging.
The low side port is located near the firewall at the back of the engine compartment near the right strut tower. It has a black plastic cover similar to a tire valve. Do not connect to the high pressure side which on my vehicle is located towards the front of the right side near the radiator. You will need R-134a and a connector kit. If you have leaks they should be corrected before recharging.Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this

2003 Ford Focus ZX5 Hatch back there are two possible places to recharge your ac. One is under the hood right hand side near the from grill, there is a little black cover over it this is the high side. The other place which takes a small connector is on the passenger side wheel well, easiest way to get to it is to take the front tire off.
The one charging port is at the front of the engine compartment, look around the top right side of the radiator. The other one is at the back of the AC compressor, and can be found from underneath by removing the small splash shield in the front of the drivers side wheelwell.
