My 2008 Trailblazer has OBD-II code P2430. How do I replace the secondary air injection pump?

This code doesn't mean to replace the air pump ,
DTC P2430 : Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Pressure Sensor Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The secondary air injection (AIR) system aids in the reduction of hydrocarbon emissions during a cold start. The system forces fresh filtered air into the exhaust stream in order to accelerate the catalyst operation. An electric air pump, the secondary AIR injection pump, provides filtered air on demand to the AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly. The AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly controls the flow of air from the AIR pump to the exhaust manifold. The AIR solenoid relay supplies the current needed to operate the AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly. A pressure sensor is used to monitor the air flow from the AIR pump. The engine control module (ECM) supplies the internal pressure sensor with a 5-volt reference, an electrical ground, and a signal circuit.
This is a pressure sensor problem . What this video on testing !

How to clear p2432 code on 2012 vw jetta

There is a smog pump on that car and it injects air into the engine to reduce emissions. The pump has hoses and valves that are hooked to it. The hoses can become pinched or brittle and crack, the valves can fail or stick or the pump has a problem. The sensor can also fail or have wire issues.

Why would you change fuel injectors?

Mail them away to be ultra sonic cleaned & tested only,
expensive proposition that was!

The MAP Sensor failed a test also?

I googled the P2431 & seems like a Secondary Air Injection
System Pressure Sensor ,hopefully that will get you close

Google it-- not easy to find some of those codes

Codes come back because you haven't found the fault
that set the code.

You working on things from yester year --not todays techology

My check engine light on Code is P2431 on Saturday. Accel. all by itself. Drove the car on Monday and it went out by itself. I know what the code means. If a bring to dealership will it show up? I am

It means that the electric air pump is faulty or the pressure sensor for it. It may have been recalled so I would check with GMC to see if they will cover it

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer we have replace the secondary air injection pump and relay and the check engine light is still on. We have cleared the computer but comes back on after next start up....

P2432 secondary air injector system pressure Sensor circuit low. Have you check the air control solenoid valve itself? Also look for obstruction. It is listed as number 1 in the fiqure.10_2_2011_3_30_28_am.gif

1 Answer

P0102 code

The P0102 engine code indicates the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor shows a low input. The codes from 0100 to 0104 all pertain to the performance of this sensor. You can try carefully cleaning the sensor with carb. cleaner or alcohol and be sure it is dry before putting back into the air intake tube. You can blow dry with aerosol compressed air. Don't use a high pressure air hose, they have water and dirt in the air and apply too much force for a delicate instrument. To clear the code from the engine, disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes. If the light comes back on have it scanned again to see if you get the same code. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for using FixYa.

HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH P2432 CODE ?

Yhea it's under the truck on drivers side bolted to the transmisson crossmember. There are three 13mm headed bolts holding it on, they go up through the crossmember and bolt to the bottom of the bracket that is holding the air pump on. there are two hoses going to the pump that you need to take off and two electrical connectors. Then you will need to switch a few things over after you get the old one out. Not hard at all, Becarful when pulling the hoses off most of the time the reason they fail is because water has gotten in there, when you take the hoses off you get soaked(i speak from lots of unexpected showers).

The " Check Engine" pertains to the computer sysytem informing you of a failure code stored. In order to clear , the problem must first be solved, and then clear the computer. Tire prssure warning light advises of low air pressure in any of your tires. Check tire pressures. A fault in a particular tire valve sensor may also indicate a fault if all pressure are up to spec
