Question about 2004 Ford F350
The 6.0 is noted for head gasket problems... on the 6.0 there is a special iron cleaner you are supposed to flush the system with. the proccess takes about 3 hrs. you have to remove the thermostat and run the cleaner in it at idle for an hour then reflush and backflush the heater core. chances are it needs headgaskets tho. quick way to find out is to go to napa and buy a universal block tester to test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system. if the test is positive then it narrows it down to either an egr cooler or head gaskets
