The 6.0 is noted for head gasket problems... on the 6.0 there is a special iron cleaner you are supposed to flush the system with. the proccess takes about 3 hrs. you have to remove the thermostat and run the cleaner in it at idle for an hour then reflush and backflush the heater core. chances are it needs headgaskets tho. quick way to find out is to go to napa and buy a universal block tester to test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system. if the test is positive then it narrows it down to either an egr cooler or head gaskets

How do I increase the idle of a suzuki sx4 hatchback

The idle is controlled by the engine's computer and you do not solve the problem by trying to increase the engine speed - which you cant without changing computer settings.
There is a fault that needs to be identified that is causing too low an idle speed when the AC is operating if that is what you are describing. You need to have the vehicle checked by a dealer to see what fault codes it is throwing and identify what the issue is.

There is no cheapy quick fix solution.

2005 golf tdi diesel since having it serviced there is no power below 1200 rpm

the turbo only comes on at 1200,so you wouldnt feel any power as such.also there is a "no fuel" setting below 1200,so when you decelerate you save fuel.(it only allows tickover fuel in at below this engine speed).possible that the service centre reset the car settings to "factory settings"as they should.

How can i adjust the rpms so it can idle higher because its too low?

If it's idling below 800 RPM, I'd worry. Otherwise, it's OK between 1200 and 800rpms. This could be any number of problems. But if you really want to increase the RPM idle, you can adjust the Throtle cable. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Error code po0117. Vw beetle

16501/P0117 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62): Signal too Low Possible Symptoms
  • Difficulties with starting a cold engine.
  • Starting the engine when engine is warmish or warm, idle rpm immediately is 1200 - 3000 rpm.
  • RPM at idle is irregular.
  • With all engine temperatures seldom idle rpm will vary between 900 - 1000 rpm.
  • With engine warm (90 °C) the engine temperature suddenly drops (70 °C) and slowly comes back to 90 °C.
  • Bad acceleration during warming up.
    • Diesel: an indication is extreme long time burning time of the glow indication light.
Possible Causes
  • The electrical signal coming from G62 is too low
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty (short circuit?)
  • Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Check wiring and connections
  • Check / Replace Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62)
Special Notes
  • In MY 1995-2002 (?) in Europe at VW-cars the G2/G62 had the bad reputation of breaking down often. The default G2/G62 is black and all replacements are green.

2002 duramax will heat up underload but not at idle any ideas why

No diesel I have ever owned will heat up to operating temp while idling. I have had semi's and dump truck and a Dodge with a Cummings turbo diesel. If you don't idle a diesel up to around 1200 rpm while sitting the combustion chamber temperature will drop because the diesel does not ignite fully at low rpm. You may also notice after an extended period of idling 1/2 hour or more that when you pull away the exhaust will be whitish blue because of the unburnt diesel fuel sitting on top of the rings. Also extended low idle will wash down the cylinder walls with unburnt diesel and remove the oil from lubricating the cylinders and rings. Hope this helps you understand why your diesel won't heat up while idling. Mike
