Battery fails when the alternator stops working cussing the light and electrical system fails.. Check your battery it still holds some charge if not get a new one and check your alternator by disconnecting the positive cable if u r car still running that means your alternator is good if your car stops working that means you a alternator is bad
your car has an alternator that is supposed to charge the battery. The light comes on when it doesn't. Most likely your alternator needs to be fixed, though it could simply be a loose fan belt.
"Battery charge system" means "Alternator" and the associated wiring.
Hello Victor, A charge light means the alternator is not charging the battery. It could be caused by a loose or broken alternator belt. Or a bad alternator or voltage regulator. I would get it looked at before it leaves you stranded with a dead battery.
Maybe, but probably not. Generally, when the battery light comes on that is an indication that your alternator is not charging your battery. Have the alternator and battery tested to find the cause.
If the battery light comes on, it means that the battery isn't getting power from the alternator. I would check to make sure the alternator belt isn't broken or loose. It could also mean your alternator is bad if the belt is in good shape. I would then take a volt meter and measure the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be around 13.5 volts if the alternator is good.
All cars have a battery light on the dashboard that is designed to warn you if the recharging system fails. A simple circuit looks at the voltage that the alternator is producing, and turns the battery light on if it is low. The battery light indicates a battery charging problem. If the battery light comes on and stays on while you are driving, the most common cause is a broken alternator belt. Total failure of the alternator is another possibility.
The charge light comes on whenever the battery has a low charge. The alternator charges the battery. When this light comes on,it usually means the alternator isn't charging the battery.I would suggest having the alternator tested and replaced,if need be.
The battery light is usually an indication that the battery is not charging. This could mean your alternator is bad but sure to check the alternator belt tension carefully. If it is loose, it can make the alternator appear bad.
The battery light coming on means the charging system cannot manage the demand on the system - i.e weak battery, defective alternator, bad regulator... Changing parts doesn't necessarily mean the replacements are working. Measure the voltage on the battery with the car running, you should see 13.7 to 15.1 volts. Turn on the headlamps, rear defogger, etc (put the system under load), you should stay in the same range. Assuming all of your electrical connections are good, the symptoms point to the alternator/regulator - these are integrated into one unit.
