You didn't provide any sounds or anything
you may have checked so far

Did you test the battery?

Is the battery 6 years old, that you would know.

Are the cables corroded or loose?

Does the starter solenoid click, that could be bad
or the starter it's self

What about the head lights or any other power

What does work is my question
You need to come here with something
to work with

1987 crown victoria ltd wont start when driven for about 15 minutes i have to white about 10 minutes for it to start up again

Sounds like a bad starter possibly getting non functional with heated up condition.

The solution is to change the starter with a new one, hopefully lifetime warranted if that's available.

At start up the car won't start the first time but only a loud click is heard coming from passenger side. car will usually start on the second try...

the starter especially the solenoid is defective. check connections to the battery, it may be lose. or the ignition switch is defective.

1987 ford crown victoria shuts down after 20 mins

I would check for spark when it happens. If no spark you probably have a thick film ignition module / profile ignition pickup issue. Replace both pieces if your going to do the job. It'll save you a headache later on down the road.

1987 Ford Crown Victoria LTD

If it was an old police vehicle it has probably got an ignition kill switch located somewhere. This will have to be removed. And the wiring put back to factory standards. If not an old police car you are not getting voltage to the starter which is a bad relay. Do you get a clicking sound when you try to start? If yes, have someone keep hitting the start and listen and look for a relay under the hood.
