Question about 2004 Mercury Sable

I have 98,000 on my 2004 sable. It misses a little on exceleration. Should a replace plugs, what do I need to tune it up? Thanks

If you have never replaced the spark plugs I would do that first and also change the fuel filter. Try those first and go from there.

Did you recently replace your plugs or wires? Sounds like you have a wire crossed. If not, it may be time to replace the plugs (tune up). Also check your fuel filter. It may be clogged.

What makes my 2002 Merc Sable have three little short pauses like misses when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear.

Sounds like a coil breaking down. Try this for a test, get going to around 45 mph and lightly accelerate, is the is miss is reproduced then the most likely cause is the secondary ignition system. I.E plugs or wires or a coil.

As you drive, the temp gage goes all the way up, then back to normal constantly, 1994 mercury sable

i have this same problem. i have replaced the entire cooling system then flushed it with cleaner. helped a little. got lowest temp thermostat helped more. but it quit doing it when i had it in for a tune up. which involed. upgrading distribitor to performance grade. perf. wires/plugs. adv. the timing

now the only time it does is in summer traffic. but mine is a winter car.

88 mercury sable start service light on then goes out idle rough runs good down the road wont pass emission

you got a miss in the ign. system do a full tune-up, wires, plugs and filters

How do i do a tune up on a 1996 mercury sable

After the has been driven a while it is very slugish on starting out at a stop light or stop sign

There maybe two possible reasons,1) you probably need a tune up (sparkplugs,wires,cap and rotor and oil change),2) your transmission maybe missing (going) and need to be worked on or replaced
