Well Im asuming its the heater blower fan you need help with, and its on the passenger side under the dash, remove the plastic panels and as well as the carpeting pulled back. you will need a 5.5mm or a 7mm to remove these panels and fan. once there removed look for a round plastic cap with 3 attaching screws, remove these as well as the harness and pull it out. re-install is reverse procedure.

If it is the heater fan motor, I believe on that you have to actually remove the dash to gain access. Remove the speaker grill on top and there are a few torx screws under that. Remove the side access panels, when you open the car doors you will a panel on each side, they are just held in there by pressure and small nubs on the panels, you will find more torx screws. In the glove box on the top towards the front you will find a few more torx screws, also in that area there are two 10 mm bolts that are somewhat hidden but accessible. After all the bolts and screws are removed you can pull the dash cover off, becareful because on the passenger side, the airbag has a paper type cover on it, you don't want to damage that. From there you should be able to gain access to the heater blower on the passenger side of the vehicle. Good luck.

There should be 4 bolts holding the shroud to the radiator. The fan motor can be removed from the shroud or bought as a complete assembly.

Which is the easiest way to take the engine out from the top or the bottom on a 1997 calavier?

the easiest way to remove the engine in your cavalier is out the top, if you remove the damper weel from the crank then the engine will lift right out with no problem, when installing it also leave the damper weel off untill you have it bolted in place, then install the damper weel and torque to specks

2001 Chev Cavalier blower fan intermittent

The power connection to the fan motor on these is known to overheat and cause a bad connection. The fan motor is above the passengers feet.Next time the fan motor will not come on, switch the selector to high and wack the bottom of the dash above the passengers feet.If the motor does come on at that time, you may need a replacement fan motor and connector.REPLACE the fan speed resistor board when replacing the fan motor, which is right behind the fan motor.

Have a 1997 Cavalier that the cooling fan will not

You may have air in the cooling system. You should have a bleeder screw on the thermostat housing or heater tube depending on what engine is in it. With vehicle off and engine cool, open bleeder screw and fill radiator with coolant until steady stream of coolant comes out of bleeder screw. If this does not work proceed with computer diag for a faulty sensor or ecm.

Replace termostat in a 1998 chevy cavalier still run hot

Yes it does have a electric fan, mine went out on my 2003 and I just changed the electric motor itself. Autozone offered the entire fan with motor or they offered just the motor. I chose to replace the motor only because I knew the fan blades and housing was fine. I had to drop the fan down and take out the entire assembly from the bottom but overall the process was a 3 out of 10 on the difficulty.
