Question about 1999 Jeep Wrangler

1999 Jeep wrangler

Jeep sat for seven days. When started up....began hearing a ticing noise in dash....sounds just like turn signal tick but more rapid and intermittent? Any ideas how to stop the tick?

If it's a top end tick from the engine. probably because oil ran down and it just needs to lubricate the head again.

1999 jeep wrangler guages went crazy


Put a volt meter on the battery itself and take a reading when it is doing that. If charge rate is over 14v the alternator may be working but the output is not being cut down to "useful voltage" You may have a regulator problem.

The reason you can't pull codes is that you have the "later" OBD system which can only be accessed with a scan tool.

Well it sounds like you have a short circuit somewhere. it apperars to be messing with the relay that you replaced. have you checked all the fuses in your fuse-box? how about all the bulbs on the exterior of the vehicle? try those things then post back.
