How do you replace the headlight bulbs in a 98 cavalier?

If you open the hood of the car, looking down, can you see the headlights? If no, remove plastic rivet covering the front of the car. There will be screws holding the headlight assembly in place.

Remove the screws and headlight assembly. Now, low beam bulbs are outside, high beams are inside. Twist out the old bulb and the new one in.

How to replace bulb in front bumper turn signal housing 1995 jag xj6

  • Identify the blown bulb. Note that if a headlight bulb has blown, the dip beam is on the outside and the high beam is on the inside. Turn off the ignition switch and light switches.

  • Open the hood and replace any blown headlight bulbs. Press the plastic spring clips and remove the bulb holder from the assembly. Pull the bulb out of the bulb holder and replace it with a new bulb. It only fits one way. Be sure not to touch the bulb's glass. Replace any parking lights at the same time, they are in the headlamp unit too.

  • Remove the front turn signal light unit in the bumper to change the turn signal bulb. Push gently on the inside edge and insert a blade between the bumper and the lens at the outside edge. Compress the spring and remove the lens. Fit a new lamp by inserting it into the plug. The side marker light is changed using a similar process.

  • Open the trunk to replace the rear fog light, stop light, tail light, reversing light and turn signal light. Remove the rear light cover and turn the bulb holder fastener 90 degrees counter clockwise. Remove the expired bulb, fit a new one and replace the parts, turning the bulb holder clockwise.

  • Thanks..

How do I change a headlight unit in a ford focus as I cannot find the bolts

Open your hood and look at the headlight assembly from inside the hood. You will see screws that you can loosen to get the headlight covers off, and the bulbs should just be "screwed" in the headlight units. There shouldn't be any bolts and screws on the outside. Also, to adjust your lights, you should have an adjustment "screw" on top of the headlight unit when you open the hood.

How to change front headlight lowbeam.

Pretty straight forward. Open hood. Pull up on plastic cover over the headlight your going to fix. Low beam is the outside bulb. Rotate bulb counter clockwise ~1/4 turn and pull out. Reverse procedure to replace. Nuttin' to it!! Make sure that the old bulb comes out with an o-ring at the base. I usually have to remove it manualy. The new bulbs have new o-rings attatched.

    Underhood lamp

i am assuming you have checked the wire that connects to the light for 12 volts when the hood is open. these lamps work on a switch that is position sensitive (hood open= light on hood closed =light off) this internal switch could be faulty, therefore you need to replace the light fixture itself(remove the two bolts holding it do the hood and unplug the wire) Or what i have found with most of these, because they are subjected to the outside elements the connections for the light bulb get corroded and the 12 volt current isn't reaching the bulb. try removing the bulb and clean the contacts with a small wire brush and some contact cleaner. Also check the bulb, sometimes they look ok but the filament is burned and can some times make contact and cause the light to work intermittently
hope this helps.........thanks for choosing FIX YA!
