Question about 2001 Jeep Cherokee
The doors for this vehicle are vacuum powered. you likely have a hose leaking allowing the door to creep open at low vacuum(idle) short term fix would be to run a hose directly to a vacuum souce to the actuatior on the top of the heater box.(get at it normally through the glove box)
