The check engine light needs to be addressed. Yes it could be a sensor but you need to know.
The light blinking means the problem is serious, such as a dead miss on one or more cylinders. The light being on means something is happening with the engine performance that could damage the catalytic converter.
Get the computer scanned - most auto parts stores will do it for free in hopes of selling you some parts. Once you have the codes research them online or here.

You might have a shorted injector driver. Disconnect the injector harness from that cylinder and connect a noid light or a high impedance test light and start the engine. If the light stays on instead of blinking, then the injector driver in the PCM is shorted and replacement will be required.

1996 lhs engine light is blinking

a blinking eng light usually comes with power loss and shaking as the vehicle is misfiring. Scan the vehicle's computer as this would give you a starting point. Codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303... would indicate misfires detected in particular cylinders inspect ignition components and repalce as needed

Car stalls when driving Hot or cold car shakes and trembles

misfire or clogged injectors. put injector cleaner in and rev it for a bit. if you still have a problem, check the crank sensor.

When I shift my 96 camaro from it starts shaking and no power.

The "blinking" service engine light is indicating an over fueling problem that can damage the catalytic converter.
You will need to have the codes read to narrow the problem down.
I would suggest you not drive the vehicle as you may cause unnecessary damage to the emission system (convertor) and added expense to repair.
Good luck.
Let me know.
