There are two plugs underneath - one obviously is transmission fluid and the other oil. Which is which?

If is a Camry, corola avalon, rav4, scion, the one in the driver side is transmission fluid. the one in the passenger side is oil.

No filter on transmission fluid. The drain is underneath, a hex plug. Remove and drain.

Where is the transmission drain plug for 2004 trailblazer


Hi.

The Trailblazer transmission has no factory installed drain plug. To drain the ****** fluid you need to work from underneath the truck and drop the transmission pan off.

Transmission is taking long to change gears. Car struggles to go up hill.


TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING.TIME FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE IF CAR HAS OVER 100000 MILES .CHECK UNDERNEATH CAR AND SEE IF TRANSMISSION OIL PAN IS WET OR LOOK LIKE PAN GASKET IS LEAKING.YOU NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION FILTER AND FLUID.YOUR TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE FILLER TUBE YOU HAVE TO ADD A PINT AT A TIME AND REMOVE CHECK PLUG ON TRANSAXLE LOCATED NEAR THE PAN ADJACENT TO THE ENGINE OIL DRAIN PLUG.THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROCEDURE YOUR CAR HAS TO BE LIFTED UP IN THE AIR ON A LIFT. CAR HAS TO BE LEVEL AND ENGINES HAS TO RUN FIVE MINUTES FOR TRANSMISSION TO BE IN OPERATING TEMPERATURE. I hope you win your bet but, the drain for the oil is center of the oil pan. There are no other drain plugs near that. They may have drained the differential or transfer case by mistake if that is a front wheel drive. If they over filled your engine oil they should be repairing the engine though. Transmission fluid is red and it would have been obvious they drained that by mistake so I would agree that wasn't what was drained.

Hi! sorry but i cant find the oil transmission


Unfortunatley, there is no transmission dipstick on the Discovery II's. There is a fill plug underneath on the front of the transmission pan. Pull that and let it come out to a small stream of fluid. Put theplug back in and go drive it. Use a infared laser thermometer to check the transmission pan temperature, needs to be around 190 degrees. Them pull the fill plug back off and top off the fluid level. Hope this helps.

Whereis the dip stick and how many quarts of oil on transmission


There is no dipstick for the transmission in these vehicles. There is a check plug underneath the car, just a couple inches above the transmission pan. You must have the car running in park, at normal operating temperature, and pull the plug. The fluid should be level with the check hole.

To fill, run the car in park, pull the plug, remove the red cap on top of the transmission and fill until it pours out of the check plug.

It will take 6.9 quarts of tranny fluid.

How to check trans oil on the '02 olds alero


Hi! The transmission on this model does not have a dipstick. Instead it uses a transmission fluid oil check plug. It is accessed under vehicle. To check fluid level you must remove oil check plug. if fluid is coming out transmission is full. If it requires some fluid you can get a gear oil bottle and a short piece of hose to put on end of nipple and squeeze dextron 3 transmission fluid in until it runs out of plug hole. Then re-install plug and snug it up. **Note: Car must be on level surface with engine off when checking. Use suitable jack stands in front and rear to make vehicle as level as possible.Always wear safety goggles when working under vehicle. I have included a picture of fill plug location for you. How replace transmision fluid


Fluid type is Dexron ,there is a drain plug and a fill plug on the underside of the transmission. you need to use the fill plug. You can not fill the transmission fluid or check the level, any other way. You have what is known as a sealed transmission

I can't add transmission fluid to my 2004 saturn vue


I think your transmission is a 4T45E which does not have a typical dipstick. Check underneath the vehicle on the transmission case above the oil pan on the passenger side of the vehicle and you will see a pipe thread plug. The transmission must be at operating temperature on a level surface and the engine running, you then remove the plug and add new fluid in the fill hole until it runs out the removed plug. You will obviously need a catch basin and do not re-insert plug until fluid has stopped overflowing. Do not turn off the engine during the process.

CHANGING THE FLUID


2000 Chev Malibu 3.1 L checking the transmission oil level is a must since there is no dipstick to check the oil level with. The MOTOR oil is hot to change the oil in the motor. Driving the car up on ramps alters the level a bit as does the trans fluid at 200 degrees instead of the recommended 100 degrees. Let the car idle while you slide cardboard, newspaper, a flex socket wrench with a deep 7/16 inch six point socket. Set both the Park at the transmission gear selector and the parking brake, and put blocks behind and in front of the rear tires before you climb underneath the car. Cars roll off of jacks, ramps and whatever enables mechanics to get underneath. Before changing the motor oil while the engine is at a slow idle, using a six point 7/16 wrench turn the plug on the passenger side of the transmission counter clockwise looking down at the top of the bolt/inspection plug. If oil runs out put the plug right back in. If not add about four ounces at a time.
To add fluid, remove the red add fluid cap is on top of the chain/side cover which is underneath the exhaust crossover in front of the air valve. I used a turkey baster with the bulb removed and used a funnel into the baster which I placed into the add fluid hole after removing the red add fluid cap. While it is a better to have one person adding fluid while the other is underneath yelling stop when the fluid starts to run out of the inspection hole, I added 4 oz at a time and may have a slightly overfilled transmission. Although the car is not level, if you have fluid at normal operation temperature, the expansion of the fluid will compensate for the overfill due to the rear of the car being lower than the front.
After removing the motor oil and filter, spray some engine degreaser on the side of the motor and transmission to remove dirt and to make finding future leaks and pinpoint their location.
If you do not have a leak and are not losing transmission fluid the time to check the fluid level adds less than five minutes to your oil change. If you have to remove the fill plug and add fluid after finding or buying Dextron III transmission oil, you may add 15 - 30 minutes to the oil change.
The exhaust crossover pipe is several hundred degrees even at idle. A bright flashlight is helpful to find leaks when lying on the ground underneath the car and oil pans.
