2002 Malibu,V6, approx 120,000 miles. Air cond, heater & defrosters do not work. Couple of days ago, car overheated suddenly. Drove car after water was added to resevoir. Drove & temp spiked & overheated again for 7 blocks. Before stopping, car made diesel Engine sound & some white smoke from exhaust pipe until cooled down. No water in oil. Car has been driven, but not overheating, some noise & smell. What can be problem & what test I should ask garage to perform to determine problem? Thanks Eunice

White smoke usually means blown head gaskets, have radiator fan checked, water pump, check coolant for oil in coolant, could be blown in between cylinders, causing coolant to go out exhaust, have compression check done on cylinders.

Ok so I bought a 2002 Nissan altima my husband drove it 15 miles filled up gas and drove approx 5 and it died - bad fuel pump.... We replaced the fuel pump but still having drive for awhile and die issues....

theres nothing wrong with the fuel pump..did you test the mass air floww sensor or have the egr valve replaced..it will save you trouble from keeping your 2002 nissan altima from dying out.

Dodge 2002 Grand Caravan V6 3.3 engine overheating/no cabin heat.

Replace the bad radiator hose first.  Second- get you special formulated anti-freeze dye from the auto store and pour it into the radiator.  Third- make sure you got all the air pockets out of your system, cause the coolant system won't work with air pockets in it.  Fourth- Check for leaks by looking for the colored dye.  If it's not the radiator hose, then could possibly be a pin hole in your radiator.  Would suggest replacing all the radiator hoses at the same time while you got the coolant system disconnected, cause you don't want to have to come back and replace another hose in a few months.

What type of maintenance my car would need after 90,000 miles

There is no special service needed at 90,000 miles other than the normal Air Filter & Cabin Filter replacement every 30,000 miles. Inspect all drive belts and hoses. You do need to replace Brake Fluid every 3 years independent of mileage. At 110,000 miles replace the spark plugs on a 4 cylinder, 105,000 on a V6. Replace engine coolant at 120,000 or 10 years on both engines. Replace A/T fluid at 60,000 miles. On the V6 at 105,000 miles replace the Cam belt and Water Pump. The 4 cylinder has a chain that you replace when it is noisy or you cannot keep the engine in time.

1997 cadillac sls overheating

Allow it to cool down and refill system while running with heater on hot. Hopefully this will get the air out of the system. However, if this condition persists, have the radiator checked for hydrocarbons. These engines are sensitive to overheat and you may have blown a head gasket. (hope not)
Good luck!
