Question about 2007 Volkswagen Golf

2 Answers

Our Touran is 2005 petrol. It has lost power off and on for the past year. The mechanics can't find the fault. Today was the worst it has been. The exhausts system light came on and stayed on (yellow light looks like an engine). If I let the car sit for a while the problem goes away but only for, say, 15 minutes.  If I drive at a steady speed it's okay.  But trying to accelerate from a stop or at higher speeds (up at 100) and the problem is back.  At it's worst I have to pull over and turn the car off. Now to define "loses power": foot on the floor, no revs, and no acceleration. That's at its worst.

Don't think it has misfired. I have been listening out for that. It's done 70000 km. Had fuel filter changed as we regularly service it. But that might explain that every time we service it it seems better for a while. "codes on ecu" sounds like something beyond me and for my mechanic?
Puffs sounds out the exhaust is another thing I will check for.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi have a 2005 VW Touran 1.9TDI engine code BKC, my emission-workshop light came on and if you start the car, it start in limp mode and the emission light then comes on

You need the fault code read with a scan tool, then based on that you do the correct fault code diagnostics to arrive at the needed repair. This requires a trip to the dealer on this car.

Renault laguna computer says warning fuel level low i have put petrol in it still says the same the petrol lights on and the gauge is showing quarter full

Hi Singo the light and gauge are seperate systems that's why they are reading wrong. It's most likely the sensor in the tank of worst case an ECU fault. You will need someone to look at it for you because Renault electrical systems are very temperament and a wrong move could cause other more serious problems. Regards Jim...

Engine man light flickering and car has lost power and is juddering.Ford focus 1.6 petrol 54reg

There is probably a sensor failure or other fault. When the engine management light is on, the ECU goes into get you home mode. I suggtes scanned the PCM to know what fault code is stored there and (with this code number) we could send additional details.

Keep in touch.

AIRBAG FAULT warning came on after closing glovebox on my vw touran! Whats wrong? This site DOESNNT allow me to put TOURAN as a vw model!!!!!

Most likely the connector on the airbag was rattled. You may need to access this and make sure its on tight. If this fails you may need to get it diagnosed. A code will further help in the direction you need to go.

Use caution as the air bag could deploy if you hit it hard enough.

To safely inspect the connector you will need to disconnect the battery for about a half hour before touching anything. This will allow the ABS module to discharge and prevent any accidental deployment.

Also be aware of any radio codes if nessasary before disconnecting the battery if needed. Also navigation could be lost if you have it.

Petrol filler flap stuck in locked position

Sounds like the solenoid is defective, but the petrol cap can be opened by opening the boot and putting your hand down the side of the back panel (petrol cap side). You should be able to feel the solenoid and on the back there is a lever that can be pulled out which will release the petrol cap latch.
