Why does turning on the A/C kill the engine?

Not sure how you put a battery in your AC, first time I've ever heard of a car AC having a battery.
Your AC may need "recharging", but that has nothing to do with a battery. A/C systems are filled with a liquid/gas "freon". When it leaks out, the A/C stops working, and can put a heavier load on the engine. Perhaps it was over filled? That could make the compressor very hard for the engine to turn.

What is the drive cycle for a 2002 Yukon XL 1500

I don't understand "drive cycle". You can clear the codes by unhooking the battery for 5 minutes then repowering.

Computer needs to be reset

Unhook the battery for two minutes on the negative side, then hook it back up. It will take a complete drive cycle for the computer to "relearn" everything, which takes between 45-60 miles of driving.

Depends what kind of repair was done, and if it was done right!
The computer wont reset by itself ALL the time!
If the CEL is still on, I would say unhook the battery for about 2 minutes(Negative cable, that will reset your computer). Then if the CEL comes back on either the repair was'nt performed properly, or something else is wrong!

Hello, have you tried to unhook the negative side of the battery for about 10 minutes and then go from there . It should reset the computer completely .

I was cleaning the throttle body on a 2002 trail blazer and didn't unhook the battery. I think the throttle needs calibtrated how. How do I do that?

If the throttle body is clean now, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so. Hook it back up and drive around for 5 miles or so with all accessories off. This will reset your computer and recognize the now properly functioning throttle body.

Idle is rough almost to a stall until the gas pedal is press

By chance, was the battery recently unhooked? If so, clean your throttle body with the battery unhooked. Clean with carb cleaner that is approved for throttle bodies, or throttle body cleaner. Drive around for 5 or so miles after your finished, this will reset the computer. If the battery was unhooked...the symptoms would be nearly stalling, with the A/C on OR the defroster on.

Nope, you just need more miles. When the car's computer has been disconnected from power (such as when the battery is unhooked), it'll set what are called "readiness codes" when power is reapplied. It takes a certain number of miles to clear these - some cars require 50 miles, some 100 miles, and some (such as some Isuzu models) need very specific drive cycles to clear them. Once the requisite number of miles have been driven without issues, the readiness codes will extinguish and your car should pass.

Ok,not really enough info to come to a proper solution. It sounds like you have a serious transmission problem. Could be the torque converter clutch or circuit. I really need to know what code is being set when the light comes on to narrow it down abit. If it's a reputible shop, they should tell you what code was found. Chrysler products have a long history of trasmission problems, ranging from internal malfunctions to pcm issues. Could be a simple re-flashing of the tramission pcm. Whatever the case,a flush will not fix it & the battery is pure coincidence. There's also the possibility it's a problem with the electronics for the engine. Being you need advanced diagnostic tools, I'd take it to the dealer or a very good shop. You can't fix this at home.
