The best way is to get a pipe that fits snug on the inside or outside of the existing pipe, outside is best.
Cut out the bad section, slide the pipe over the other and use a proper diameter exhaust clamp to crush them together.
Cut out the bad section, take the piece to your favorite auto supplier or exhaust shop and have them cut you a repair piece. Ask them for a couple of clamps to fit as well.
If the pipe fits well enough you will not need to worry about it leaking after it is clamped.
