2001 F-150 Drivers Side power window only goes up half way. Motor is working fine but window will not go up. Have taken the door panel off and it looks like the front channel is loose. Any suggestions?

If you found an obvious problem like the loose track, than that should be repaired. I use silicone spray in the fore and aft tracks. This cuts way down on the friction. There is a threshold where too much friction is just like the window going all the way up to its stop and the motor will stop when it cannot overcome the force needed to push the window.

if you hot wired it straight to the motor and it works up and down fine chances are you have a broken or shorted wire between the button switch and the motor itself possibly between where the door opens and shuts at the hinge

Sounds like your drivers side window regulator motor gear is bad as far as the other windows drivers door switch is most likely bad if you dont have experience working on electrical or have never taken apart a door panel I would recommend seeing a mechanic. To check the switch you have to disassemble passenger door panel accesa the window regulator motor disconnect the weatherpack connect hook up multimeter and test for power while having an assistant push the window switch down

1993 Bighorn Passenger window not working

There could be a lock controller somewhere that is not working.
I don't have a wiring diagram for your truck.

Generally, the power window motors are grounded thru the doors, or the switches provide ground. In your case the motors are probably grounded thru the doors.
The master switch "overrides" the door switch so you have extra wires that do the same thing. The E wire probably gives the door switch power and the A and C are up and down. The B and D are override circuits from the master that bypass the door switch.
Sometimes the motor is grounded thru the switch then thru the door.

The driver window will not roll up but all the other windows work just fine.

well we know its getting power to the switch if all the other ones work, as the drivers switch box is the main junction for all windows and locks. since the rest work, the the drivers switch itsself is the problem. but the door panel needs to be taken off to give the motor power and ground , this will ensure its the switch and not the motor. so give the motor a seperate power and ground sources to acheive this, if the motor works then the switch is in fact bad/defective.

How do you take the drivers door apart to repair the power window lift? We are uncertain on how to take the door apart to get to the window motor without breaking it.

There are two screws in the arm rest. And the rest of the door panel is held on by plastic clips on the back side. Start at the bottom of the door panel and pull out. The door panel will feel like it is going to break but the clips will break way before the door panel. Every door panel that I have taken off I have broken at least one of the clips. You can get the new clips at Autozone. But make sure that you take a broken one with you. Because they have a bunch of different sizes. When you get to the top of the door you will have to lift up to get it all the way off. Then you will have to unplug the wiring for power windows, locks, and mirrors.

Drivers side window won't roll up

check for power at that window motor plug behind door panel while operating window switch. No power? replace window switch. Have power? replace motor.

The drivers side window stoped working on my 2004 silverado the passenger side works fine

Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. If it goes up and down it's probably the switch which may just need a clean on the terminals.

92 Subaru Legacy Power Windows Don't Work

I have a 92 that did the same. After checking fuses and the relay(located under drivers seat) I discovered that the power windows control module on drivers door was bad. Went to a salvage and bought a used for $40, pulled the door panel, unscrewed and unplugged the old one, put in the used one and everything worked fine. About a week later, the passenger side motor went out and replaced that with a used power window motor. All windows now work fine.
