No they do not use a heater control valve, the expedition uses whats called a blend door which is driven by whats referred to as a blend door motor, which control's the air flow though the heater core or a/c evaporator to heat or cool the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Its a faulty heater control valve that is located in between the engine and the heater core or just before the firewall.

My heat is not working in my car. i tried first

There won't be a "valve" to put antifreeze in. There will be a radiator overflow tub. This will be located off the side of the engine compartment, near the front corner. (To locate, follow the overflow hose from the radiator cap to the catch tub.) You can replace radiator fluid in there, or in the radiator itself. That should get you some heat.

My heat is not working on my ford expdition It has separate heat controls for the front and the rear. The heat is working in the back but not the front.I can drive for miles and still can remove the cap...

If the heat is working in the back seat than it should work in the front. Check to see if the temp control knob is actually turning the shaft on the valve They have been known to slip.
