You may be able to ask a Dealer to look at the Vin# ID for the truck to verify. The older 1999 used 3 valves and then the next year or so the engine changed to 4 valves. This was also when the 1999 body style was carried into 2000 for the Heritage Edition. Can not say if the old style body made as a 2000 Heritage had a different engine. The older models did not have "Cam Phasers" which were problematic on the newer generation engines. Sometimes parts stores have access to Vin# requirements in their parts manuals.
I doubt the ECM from a C body would work on your Century. I would probably buy a used computer and prom from a car exactly like yours. The prom is calibrated to the body style, engine, and trans. Each year and model can be different due to emissions standards.
some stamp this on the dipstick for the transmission. without seeing the pan on the transmission its either a 700-r4 4L60 or a 4L80 trans. if you count the number of bolts in the trans it would help
Check out faxonaotuliterature. They have GM service manuals from $79 and they also have GM engine swap manuals for $24.95. I've used them and been extremely satisfied. Hope this helps.
they both have a 700r4,check the overall length of trans, they had two trannys 700r4l60e and 700r4l80e.4l60 similar to 350 turbo and 4l80 similar to 400 turbo
