1998 Villager has rattles that seem to come from underneath the van as though something is loose and bumping. Can't find anything loose.

sometimes the exhaust hangers stretch and allow the exhaust system to bounce around over bumps. check to see if you can move the tailpipe and muffler around

Code reader knock sensor where is it located 1998 mercury villager

According to the Haynes manual it is under the intake manifold, Upper and lower intake manifolds must be removed for access. If you go to Auto Zone, they have the sensor and can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the knock sensor with common tools. Good luck and hope this help.
