Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get rid of the fault codes. You may just have system failure and reconnecting the positive battery connector can resolve the problem. Be sure that the body grounds are tight as well specially the negative battery connector.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Cruise control kept switching of by itself

the connection is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) in the transmission
If that is faulty or the wiring is faulty then cruise control is lost and information to the transmission control module(TCM) is erratic which will put the ECM into limp mode and the light to appear on the dash
Have the fault codes read and take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop with experience on your make of vehicle to get a proper diagnosis and quote

Cruise not available fault light on 2004 jaguar s type 3.0 v 6

What is the fault code? If you don't know you need to have it tested with a scanner that reads all JAG codes, that means the dealer.

Cruise control light comes on but speed will not set

You need to scan your onboard computer network for possible fault codes. Many engine, transmission, or antilock brake/traction control malfunctions will cause the cruise control to be disabled.

Engine management light just come on and if I

hi unfortunately there is no quick fix to this, what you will have to do is either take it to a dealer who can read the error codes from the ECU as this will pinpoint the exact problem as there are many many things that can cause the cruise control to stop working, i have just been looking through the error codes just for the cruise control and there are about 15 different things it could be, obviously you have a problem with the transmission somewhere and this will only be found out by a diagnostic system, you can purchase a cheap one off the net for a few bucks if you wish to do it yourself, most are self explanatory and will tell you what the error code is and what the fault is, if however you do manage to get a fault code you can re-post it on here and i can tell you what the problem is...sorry its not that helpful...but its somewhere for you to start..

Gearbox fault light and cruise not available

The only thing that will cause a cruise control fault is a loose vacuum hose ussually on the breather hose coming from the valve cover in front to the throttle body. As for the remainder, shut off the car and restart to get you home and avoid the limp home mode. That in itself is an electronic fault in the ground system. Check you coils or replace them with a new set of plugs (autolite double platinum recommendes.) Clean any grounds you may have and then start you engine. You will notice there is no problem then. Run a diagnostic tool to see if there is any fault with grounded sensors like the O2 to keep that from happening again. Don't get the tranny replaced cause thats all the dealership wants to do and charge you $5k. Its not the actual cause. Good luck and let us know if there is anything else we can do here at fixya.
