Question about Ford F-150

There might be 2 posibilities, if your truck is automatic transmission and it does not run in reverse but it runs in drive, this might be the clutches of the transmission. If the automatic transmission does not move the car neither reverse or drive, it might be the planetariums or also the clutches.
If your truck is standard shift and when you try to shift to first gear it sounds and won't take it, for sure is your clutch. You might have a soften presurre plate, or a slipped clutch disk. If when you put the clutch you hear a sound, that might be the bearing on the clutch.

Is it manual or auto and if manual does it grind as you try to put it in gear if so maybe your clutch needs replacing.

you have to disconnect the negative side of the battery so you won't kill it then remove the door panel look for hidden screws behind the arm rest and behind what looks like little doors that you have to use a screw driver to open once that is removed you will find a plastic sheet just cut and peel this back (you can use duct tape to replace it when you are done) also put on gloves because inside the doors there is sharp edges, you then can see the motor and you will need to break off the rivets but you can put the new one on with just a small bolt and nut and use lock tight

ok i understand now the easiest thing for you to do is just get something to connect the two wires together,( like a short piece of wire ) bypassing the switch. have someone watch the reverse lights while you do this. if the lights come on then you need a switch. if not you have a bad wire or fuse/ fusible link. you can use a test light to see if you have power to the switch, one wire should have power and the other leads to the reverse lights. you can test the switch itself with a ohm meter, or continuity tester aswell if you have one. if you need more help i am here for you... dustang
