Question about 1993 BMW M5

2 Answers

The car turns over fine but will not start. There was no warning, parked it in the gararge and a week later it would not start. I am kind of old school so I squirted a small amount of fuel in each cylinder and it still did not start or even try to start.

I had a remote car starter installed about two weeks ago now I had to replace my calipers and five days later the same problem happened. Does the remote starter have anything to do with the brake system?

No the remote start and braking are not associated systems, other than some remote starters require the feed from the park brake indicator be active before the remote start will engage. If you have replaced your calipers and a week later they are bad again, I would want to see the old parts from the first repair to verify it was actually done. The only other thing I can think of is perhaps the park was left on while driving?

98 Cherokee 4.0 VERY loud grinding

Sounds like the alternator bearings have gone away, but, you need to physically check the source of the noise. (I can't do that from here).
It also seems that you may have more than one problem going on there, possibly a bad ignition switch and also a blown fuse or bad body control module. As far as why the noise seems to be only when the engine is "freewheeling" may have a lot to do with rpm change and loading when in gear. I would go after the obvious alternator problem first, then sort out the remainder later.

I disconnected the battery and cleaned the terminals. I reconnected the terminals and the vehicle started. I then restarted the vehicle and parked it. Five minutes later it would not even turn over....

SOUND LIKE A DEAD BATTERY.IF YOUR CABLES VERY OLD REPLACE THEM.ALSO CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE WITH A DIGITAL VOLTMETER .IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF BATTERY GOOD .STARTER COULD BE THE PROBLEM.I WARN EVERY BODY TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING BATTERY CABLE SO YOU DONT LOSE RADIO CODE.

Engine stops while driving, no warning. If you stop put the car in park it starts right up again and does the same thing a week later.
