Check to see if the slave cylinder on the tranny is working when you press the clutch peddal, that might be the problem. I is what actually moves the arm to disengage the pressure plate from the clutch and fly wheel. I would start there

depends on what type of clutch meaning with or without slave cylinder. if with, slave cylinder could be bad or out of fluid. if without, throwout bearing and possibly fork could be damaged.

2004 rx8 clutch won't disengage..you can shift it with the motor off but it will not shift with the engine running,.. I replaced the master cyclinder already


If you lost resistance from the pedal, you may need to replace the clutch slave. The clutch slave is the one at the end of the clutch line attached at the transmission. Check also for leaks on your system.

WHen under load the motor revs up and it seems that the Clutch is slipping, it has 100000miles and I suspecting the clutch or the high / low range might be messed up, its a 4 plus 3 manuel transmission.


If it feels like the clutch is slipping, chances are it is. If there was a problem in any component that has internal gears, you would have grinding noises. Gears cannot slip. As the clutch wears more you may hear grinding when you try to change gears but that is because the clutch won't fully disengage so the gears are spinning too fast to shift properly. Before that happens, have the clutch replaced.

Have a 2001 honda accord just replaced master clutch cylinder and slave cylinder and clutch won't disengage. what could be the problem.


Did you bleed the clutch hydraulic system after you replaced the parts? It requires bleeding just like the brake system does.

I put push in clutch,car stays engaged. replaced whole clutch assembly


Check your clutch fluid reservoir.If it's low or empty your clutch won't disengage. It works on a hydraulic system similar to your breaks.

Check your clutch fluid box located by your breaks master cylinder. Your clutch works like your breaks in that when you press the clutch pedal it uses hydraulics to disengage your clutch plate. If it's low or not working properly your clutch plate won't fully disengage and could lead to more problems.
