Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I changed my battery & now my speedometer has reset to "0" on my 1998 Oldsmobile LSS. Also the car turns over but won't start.

You need the sensors of those functions, which you don't have installed. I would go back to the correct part.

My 1996 Olds LSS doesn't idle properly,idling surges sometimes,the temp. gauge doesn't work and sometimes the heater doesn't work.It may stall while driving.If I get in and the power seats...


Your first problem is to find out why the intermittent no-power problem. Honestly, that sounds like a loose conmnection somewhere. check all your grounds for clean and tight conditions Also, battery connections and alternator connections. Double check your power distribution center for any loose wires or poor connections. Once you solve that problem, then you can diagnose the other problems with poor idle and temp. gauge.

1998 Olds LSS transmission slipping when engine has warmed up and once shifted into higher gear. Standing start is fine. Just had a tranny flush and new filter (no change) Could it be the "lock...


The lockup switch locks the converter when driving at highway speeds. You can try replacing it, as an attempt at a cheap fix, but it sounds like your transmission is getting weak. There are different clutches and bands in your transmission for different gears, which do wear out over time.

Replace crank sensor. check to see what is running while car is off. Door switch,dome lights, power ant. etc.
