SOURCE: The car is slipping between gears is it low on

You didn't state the mileage on the vehicle so a definitive answer isn't really possible.
There are clutches in an automatic that can be worn, or the 'slush box,' the torque converter, can be bad. Checking fluid level in an automatic normally has very specific conditions that may be noted in your owner's manual and may include driving the car to warm the fluid and doing certain things while checking it so if you don't wish to let a pro do it, check with your local library to see if they have a Haynes or Chilton service manual you can check out to get the correct guidance on fluid checking.

SOURCE: 156,000 mi./automatic transmission slipping/slow to change gears

Nope. There is a drain plug on the transmission case. It is a simple drain and fill. Odyssey transmissions do not have a filter.

SOURCE: 1992 park ave transmission slips fluid and

It probably did not slip before the fluid was changed I so the clutches are worn out and need to be replaced The worn fibers were still in the old fluid causing the fluid to be thicker filling the voids much better to shift. Now once drained and new fluid installed it slips

Transmission not shiftin

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

For more troubleshooting, I suggest you to get the Following help link checked, its complete step by step procedure to inspect gear shift issues: -----

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 auto. At start up the trans pump sounds like lack of fluid whine. Put into gear & it drives for few minutes then slips to the point of stopping, if left idling it...

Likely it's better to leave the bands alone. The servos have plenty of travel and unless it was "hammering" into gear (from excessive clearance there) likely adjusting them won't do much. Pan rail is stamped pretty deep...carb cleaner wont clean it up enough to read?
Replacing the filter may help if it's plugged up. If not, don't bother replacing it...problem is internal and filter won't change much of anything.
You can only partially replace the fluid because the converter has no drain. Therefore, use cheap oil and a container of lucas conditioner. If it helps, do the change again at 3,000 miles and use a higher quality fluid along with another lucas.
If you can't get the unit #, buy both filter kits and make note of which is for what transmission. Return the unused one.

Sounds less like a transmission slip as a rear end issue. What exactly happens on the turn?

2001 Jeep Grand Char., trans slips when making left turn only , 144000 miles, filter and fluid was changed

theres not much you can do about a slipping trans. its probly more noticable when you turn left because your left rear wheel is your primary drive wheel, it takes more force to move your car from the inside corner than the outside. be gentle on it and it may last you a while

1995 JEEP WRANGLER Automatic 4 cyl. gears starting to slip

ck the condition of the tranny fluid. If the fluid is very dark, it will need changing. Another problem with the jeep auto tranny is that if the fluid has not been changed in a long time, the clutch material will wear and clog the tranny filter inside the pan.If there is alot of clutch material in the pan and you change the fluid and filter, sometimes the tranny won't work because the clutches are worn out too much.

05 rubicon auto. rpm's jump from 800 to 1200 when slowing down, then back to normal. why is it doing this? the jeep wants to lurch forward when this happens.

Sounds like on downshift the transmission has a delay, transmission "slips" out of gear.

My first step would be to change transmission fluid & filter if it has not been done recently. (Assume level of fluid is ok).

4x4 slips shiftin gears starting and stopping

you might already know but when shifting into 4wd you can shift into 4hi while driving as long as the tires,(all four) are travelling the same speed. you can't shift into 4wd if you are spinning. 4 low you have to completely stop. When you are in 4 low as you know the power of vehicle is greatly increased due to gear reduction. so if you are seeing slipping symptoms, you might want to change transmission filter. It might not be much help to you but it might prevent problems down the road. also when changing fluid be sure to put mopar transmission fluid for replacement on jeep. like gm calls for dexron. the transfer case on dodge and jeeps also takes transmission fluid. I had to replace a t-case on my friends dakota that was making a grinding noise and it turns out a seal had leaked some fluid out and burnt up some bearings. pretty expensive. they are chain driven. hope I didnt get too carried away, because I am not a transmission expert but I just wanted to share what I did know with you.
