You might need a new Temperature sending unit.

If all other guages are working, the coolant level is ok, and the heater is nice and warm, I'd say you need a new Coolant Temperature Sensor.

If there isn't actually any coolant dripping out of the engine, or rad, or hoses when it is sitting, either running or not, you most likely have a blown head gasket. The easiest way to check is, when it is cool, remove the radiator cap, and start the engine. If bubbles are constantly rising to the top of the rrad, your head gasket is gone, and i can almost guarantee you that is the problem. Sorry.

Make sure your auxiliary cooling fan is operation. (engine bay, left side of the radiator) When the A/C is on or the car reaches normal temperature, the aux fan should kick on and continue to run until the car reaches a lower temperature. If the fan is not working then check for power to the fan. If you have no power then check on the left inner fender for a blue pektron (relay looking item) If there is power there then the fan is bad.

TEMP GUAGE JUST QUIT WORKING. COOLANT LEVEL IS FINE, HOSES ARE FINE. EVERYTHING IS COOL TO THE TOUCH. TEMP GUAGE READS BELOW COLD, YET ELECTRIC COOLING FAN COME ON WHEN ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN.

your gage has just gone out and needs to be replace. the computer control the fan. so as long as the temp sensor is connected to the engine it will work fine but you will not know the temp of your vehicle.

Cooling fan not working

The fans only run when the engine reaches approxminatly 235 degrees F. on the guage that is near the end of scale just before guage show "HOT" I don't think you have a problem, allot of folks out there don't know about this.
