You usually have to drive at least 2 drive cycles or about 100 miles.to see if light stays off.

2003 Chevy Malibu I need to know exactly where the fuel injectors are located so i can replace them. Please and thank you.

The 2003 Chevy Malibu has a 3.1 L GM 60 V6 engine.
Both of these videos should show you approximately where they are and may also help you replace them.

Tip

Vehicle Inspection required drive cycles.

If your state requires periodic emmissions inspections, you may run into a problem when your vehicle has not gone through the required drive cycles after a repair, or anytime the computer was cleared. The inspection station will not pass your vehicle until the required drive cycles has been met. But nobody knows what is required of you in order to meet the criteria for drive cycles. I ran across theis website that explains the drive cycle process, and other information concerning the OBD2 diagnostic sysytem. The website is <a href="http://www.obdII.com">www.obdII.com</a>.

Emmissions failed due to the following. OBD Connector Integrity - malfunction indicator light (MIL) status This is for a 2000 chevy lumina

MIL status is error codes, but usually for pre 1995 vehicles. If you check engine light was on, then it would not pass emmissions. Since your vehicle is a 2000, I would suggest you take it by an autoparts store and have them read your error codes before you try to reset them. Make sure you write them down in the order they come off their scanner.

Yu can usually clear error codes by disconnecting your battery.

I have a 2003 chevy malibu with 90,000 miles. i took it in for maintenance and the mechanic said that it was showing trouble code p0341. he said it was the cam sensor. yesterday when i went to start it, it...

if the cam sensor is bad, it will definitely not start. The cam shaft position sensor's function is: the engine speed and crankshaft position information is supplied frome a sensor which is usually situated at the front or rear of the crankshaft. note that distributor-located engine speed sensor are generally being replaced with crank shaft-located sensors,as worn disributor drives and associated components can effect the accuracy of the engine speed signal.

A camshaft position sensor,or cylinder identification sensor is used to determin the engine cycle position the information is used to provide individual cylinder ignition and injection cotrol. Many engine mangement systems use an inductive type of sensor that is located near the camshaft;when the camshaft rotates a single signal is passed to the ECU to indicate a reference point in the engine cycle

My 1996 Nissan Altima has had the Oxygen sensors and EGR valve replaced. It needs to pass emmissions test but evan after driving it fo rover 500 miles the The ECM will not reset eventhoughtthe fault codes...

Putting miles on them wont reset the computer. It is how many times you cycle the key on and off. And they will only reset if the problem was fixed. I don't know how many times yours has to be cycled, but some vehicles are up to 100 times. Hope this helps.

Need to do a drive cycle?????

a drive cycle is very complicated and is outlined in the factory emission manual, but here is the short version, u need to do about 20 miles of mixed driving, freeway steady speed, then stop and go and steady low speed, repeated idle times and stop and go, so just drive it in town and on the freeway for a few days and I am sure it will clear the drive cycle test and be ready to pass emission test.

OBD Communication

OBD stands for on board diagnostics.it could either be a connector problem or a computer problem.take it to your local parts store and have them hook up a tester for free.if the computer is dead take it back to the dealer it should still be under warranty.thanks for using fixya.
