If you've checked both light bulbs and they are good, then you are looking for the neutral safety switch. It's connected to the shift lever mechanism somewhere (sorry, I can't say where because I've never looked inside one of these vehicles, much less worked on one).

On automatic transmission models, the neutral safety switch is supposed to keep the starter from running unless in Park or Neutral, as well as turn on the reverse lights in Reverse.

What fuse is for the reverse lights on a 1994 Chevrolet 3500

it should share the parking light fuse, but if they arent working its more than likely the safety switch that turns those lights on when you place the car in reverse, is bad, its often located under the dash near the steering column, its also called a transmission range switch, it can have a loose wire or just be bad, i would check that out first

I have a 89 chevy 1500 the brake lights do not work. The turn singals work the running lights work but the hazzard flashers do not work either. The brake lights donot work or the hazzards donot work ,...

First check all fuses. If they look good, more than likely brake light switch is bad. Switch is mounted just above brake pedal under the dash. Small plastic switch w/a couple of wires coming from it. Easy fix.

There is a switch that turns the lights on when in reverse, You'll have to locate the switch and see if that failed, or check the wiring for broken connections
