2001 Honda Passport, change spark plugs with coils on top. Hard to do? Spark plug gap?

not hard to do , just need a little patience to get the coils out of the plug wells.also a swivel type 5/8 inch spark plug socket works best when removing the plugs. as for the spark plug gap, the vehicle requires platinum plugs which do not need gapped.

2004 gmc jimmy, tried to start fired twice didnt catch now just turns over,i can here fuel pump and smell gas.replaced ignition coil??? still wont fire

Check the ECM/BAT fuse. this fuse controls the ECM and the fuel injection circuit. If the fuse is ok, you need to check for voltage at the spark plug. Pull the #1 spark plug. If the cylinder is getting fuel the plug will be wet with gasoline. Put the spark plug wire back on the plug. Now crank the starter and look for a spark from the spark plug electrode. If you can let me know what you find from these tests, I can help you determine the next course of action.

When I accelerate, the car has a hard time getting up to speed and the service engine lights flashes three or four times then stops

Without using an OBD scan tool to read the computer error codes causing the CEL to come on, the best guess is that this could be as simple as a misfire due to old or defective spark plugs and wires, or even possibly just a loose spark plug wire. Check that all the spark plug wires are attached securely. If yes, you should consider replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires, You can do further diagnostics by pulling the spark plugs and inspecting them, and also pull the spark plug wires, inspect the terminals, looking for signs of wear or corrosion, and test each wire with an ohmmeter to verify that its resistance is in spec. If you replace the spark plugs and wires and the problem persists, let me know and we can take it from there.

The best way to access spark plugs on these vehicles is jacking up the front end and removing the front tires access thru the wheel openings with a rachet, long extension and aswivel style 5/8 spark plug socket.

My 2001 gmc Jimmy is making a metal on metal grinding sound in the front left wheel area when I touch the brakes. Do u think it's brake pads or worse? And how hard is it to fix?

If the sound is barely noticable its the squeekers letting you know you need new brakes in a few more hundred miles or so.When you let your foot off the brake the sound disappears quickly doesn't it? If so its time for new pads

I have 2001 gmc jimmy 4wd that will turn over but not start? can anyone help with this??????

This could be many things. First you need to check to see if it's a gas problem, or an electrical problem. Make sure you're getting spark to each of the spark plugs and if you're getting gas to the engine.

I want to replace spark plugs in my 2004 jimmy ,Very hard to get where they are any sugestion?

Well its a very fun job ! The best way on some is through the fender well get a long extension and a flexable 5/8 spark plug scocket works wonders on the drivers side there is a plug wright by the steering column when ya get to that one take a brake you will need it best way to get it out some years are different but put the 5/8 scocket on the plug and then a rench to loosen it good luck its even a pain in the but job for the best of us.
