Check all the battery cables for corrosion or damage. Tighten all ground connections. If everything is in good order, I would suggest getting a new battery. Batteries can have an internal short and be good one minute, bad the next. Sears Diehards used to be the world's worst about shorting out.

check for voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should see 14 plus volts. Now turn on the lights, bower motor, and whatever else you can to put the maximum draw on the battery. If the voltage drops below 13 volts the alternator is bad.

All of the lights dim when letting off the gas pedal. Is the problem the Battery?

Check the cable connections to the battery. If they are loose or dirty, clean them and tighten them. Check the battery for water while you are at it.

If that is okay, have an auto parts store check your charging system - they do it for free. You could be in the early stages of alternator failure or diode failure.

I had a van that did this for years but was always leery of it.

When at a stop the envoy kinda idols funny like it goin to quit and lights dim and if it was the battery wouldnt it be difficult to start

Was the battery recently disconnected, and does this only happen when the defroster/AC is on? Easy fix if so, let me know.

Battery Died in my 06 Focus I changed it but now the Battery light is on (but very dim, you can only see it at night)

Hi:
You most likely have an problem with your alternator, which is what the battery light is trying to tell you.
Auto parts stores can check your alternator for free, or if you have a volt meter, you can check it yourself.
With the car off, your battery should read about 12.6 volts. With the car running, you should measure approx 14 volts across the battery. If you don't have this amount of voltage, your alternator is the most likely suspect.

Volt gage!!

that sounds about right . the voltmeter just tells you how many volts the battery is holding,if you turn your lights on high beam turn your wipers on and your heater all at the same time,as soon as the current being used is greater than the alternator can charge , you will see the needle on the voltmeter drop back that is normal and logical. if you are running spotlights etc you may need a higher wattage alternator a lot of vehicles come out with 55watt alts.and the owners change the alts. to 100 watt alts... NOW as long as yours is not dropping below 12volts it is not draining your battery so there will be no ill effects it just means the alternator is working close to its capacity-------------------- there you go ,I would not be worrying too much unless it flatens your battery Idony think you need worry "youdoit"
