I am having the same problem. Posts I've seen suggest the most common reason is one of the hood switches that let it know the hood is closed. I'll be talking to my dealer about it.

When i called our dealer about the problem with the theft alarm in our 2007 Santa Fe going off for no reason (usually in the middle of the night), the dealer sounded not at all surprised and commented "oh, it just requires a simple wiring fix". I brought it in and the did their fix, and have had no problems since (a month and counting).

Same problem here but with a Toyota Sienna '99. It took $600 in diagnostic work but the problem was a low voltage electrical short in a switch that was part of the passenger door lock. Specialty shop found it by placing voltage testing equipment on 4 to 6 wires at a time that ran into the cars computer. They recorded any voltage spikes over all these wires 24hrs/day over 3 days to find the bad switch. Snipping the wire to that switch meant the alarm would always go off if the locked car was opened with a key in the passenger door lock but we we're ok with it. Car was about 5yrs. old when this ocurred but we never had another problem of any kind with it for another 4 years. Thanks, Dan

How can I disable the car Alarm

No there is not way to do this without locking out the engine. Have the dealer scan the theft deterrent system for the fault code.

How do i disable the alarm siren on a volvo s80 as it goes of all the time ?

It is on a system that cannot be disabled. The siren has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Check your dealer for a new siren. The odds of finding a good one in a salvage yard are very slim.

Anti theft reset

well the only thing that states about a anti theft alarm, in my manual, is if you leave your key in the ignition, and open the door it will sound a buzzer, to remind you that you need to remove your key, this is on page #114, nothing else is mentioned about this sorry not much help.

THATS WHY THEFT SECURTY ALARM GOING OFF THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM NOT WORKING FUSE IS MISSING.MORE LIKELY THE GUY SOLD YOU THE CAR BECAUSE OF FAULT IN THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM, GOING COST TO FIX.

Isuzu rodeo 2000, LS, anti-theft alarm needs to be reset

This has to do with the Auto's Computer system and should ONLY be done by a Factory Rep who knows what he/she are doing. not a home mechanic chore!!

I need to disable the factory alarm on my 2001 expedition. I'm looking for the valet switch under the dash. I've looked for an hr and can't find it. Where is it & what does it look like?

On that year/make/model there is no "valet" switch to speak of, and the factory alarm system can not be disabled without 5 times as much work and wiring as you would put in to fix the current problem. There's a good possibility that you have something simple like a failed GEM module, but without a complete diagnostic check, throwing parts at the problem won't fix a thing. In order to bypass the alarm you would need to rewire the entire databus system and then reprogram the modules to correspond with the removal of the anti-theft system, if there even IS a program you could install to let the modules know there is no longer an anti theft system in it. My suggestion, get either a good local independant on it, or dealer.

Alarm goes off with no reason accord 2000 would like to disable it

I would recommend replacing the alarm control unit. This black plastic piece, located somewhere in the left kicker panel not only handles the sound alarm, but the flashing alarm, the keyless power locks and the theft code for the radio. It is rare that these boxes fail, more than likely a rusty sensor at the doors, trunk or hood will be the culprit. Mine goes off when cats go under the car, and cant figure why. Im making a decision on fixing the alarm, or fixing the cats.

1999 Infiniti 30 wont start. Disconnected battery for 20 mins. and it strated 4 times in a row. Then I set the alarm and turned alarm off and it wont start. Is this a security issue or a starter problem?

Sounds like it went into theft mode when you unhooked the battery and tried to start it multiple times. Most cars have some sort of SKIM key which is a key with a computer chip in it that is programmed to a module in the car. If this programming is lost by a battery diosconnect it usually needs to be reprogrammmed by a dealer. The reason it won't start is because the theft mode probably has the fuel or spark disabled as a theft deterrent.

did you replace the fuse.if so try to get the alarm reset location,it could be in the stupidist place like my pathfinder you have to put the key in the tailgate and turn it to glass side and hold it for 20 seconds.and then hit the hidden reset switch under the rear carpet.

Nissan maxima 2001 panic alarm goes off for no reason

Hello, I had the same problem with my 2001 Maxima. The dealer suggested new key fobs, but the eventual fix was the car battery. When the battery is on the way out, the voltage drop is enough to set it off, just as it would if there was a voltage spike when someone breaks in. I have no problems now!
