My 2001 Jeep Cherokee turn signals don't always work. When they do, they work for a little while and then stop flashing. Any ideas?

Old cars used to come with a dielectric sort of grease so the light contacts don't make a short, now this car makers save at least $1 Dollar and don't use this quality protection in the sockets, therefore you'll have to be forced to buy from them both male and female piggy tail, it's the business to have a vehicle last only 10 years.
Dielectric connector protection has to be applied by the buyer in every environment exposed contact or filament.

Did you check power an grounds with volt ohm meter ? you replaced the combination flasher ? Did you check fuse # 20 & 4 in the underhood junction box ? Pull the flasher relay an check for voltage in an voltage out , need a wiring diagram to do that ! Go www.bbbind.com free wiring diagrams !

My guess would be a problem with the turn signal switch.
Unless there is a short in one of the bulb sockets and the parking lights are flashing too.

Check the flasher under the dash to the left of the steering column. It's got about 8 or 10 wires plugged into it.
