Question about 2006 Mercury Mariner

1 Answer

2006 Mercury Mariner door ajar indicator dashboard light is on and constant dinging when put into any gear. When 10A fuse is pulled out the dinging is gone but the overhead lights are constantly on and no dashboard lights at all or not radio at all. The problem started after having large campaign sign metal brackets in the rear inside area and may have lodged and pushed against an indicator for the back door/hatch.

Back up lights not working

Assuming it has automatic, 10A fuse 29 in the smart junction box supplies power to the reverse lamps relay. If the fuse is OK, the relay could have failed. Fuse 3 in the smart junction box may be open, causing the license plate lights to be off.

We have tried everything to stop the dinging in our 2005 Saturn Relay how can we stop it?

You mean the door ajar alarm ?
You could probably pull the fuse for the interior lights to make it stop.
Chances are one of the door sensors has failed.
The PSD fuse is for the power sliding doors.

I have a 2006 Mercery Mariner my dome lights come on and stay on while im driving, they stay on at least 10 mins, sometimes they will blink on and off. most of the time they will come on when i hit a bump...

Chances are it is a door latch, but may be a wire that's shorting out. If you also have a door ajar light blinking on and off at the same time the dome light comes on you should recheck the door latch switches. You could also check the wiring in the harnesses to the doors, sometimes the wires brake and short inside them.

My van dings all the time when under 20 mph and the light stay on for 15 min. after car is off. The door ajar light is on but all doors are shut. Is this an electrical problem? Is there a way to shut off...

one of the door/van loading door switches has failed it thinks a door is open so the the interior light stays on and the door open warning will ding the interior light should have a switch to disable it or take out the bulb but you cant stop the dinging until you find the faulty latch switch and fix it
