Question about 2007 Kia Sorento 4x4

2004 kia sorento 2.5 diesel automatic started this morning engine raced into red line I had no control accelerator pedal made no difference. switched off key. Tried again same thing. Eventually put it into drive this brought the revs down but still I had no control, then suddenly revs dropped and I had very little drive no response from accelerator pedal. Limped about 4 miles with either over revving or very low revs. Did return journey this evening exactly the same. Any ideas?

This could be a number of things , get the OBD codes read as should give code for the faulty part (hopefully), it is a common faulty with this engine , try this site for more info from those who have had the same happen

SOURCE: Water leaking - Kia Sorento 2.5 Diesel

There is a small black rubber pipe that is directly connected to the airconditioning system, which is usually placed on the passenger side of the vehicle. This normally leaks water when your A/C is switched off after a drive, or while it is in operation during a hot day.

If you identify this pipe as the one I have described above, there is no need to worry about the water leak.

could be you have a few bad glow plugs or a relay for them or a bad glow plug controler. the glow plugs are basicly a direct short that creates heat that warms the air in the cylinder to aid initial start.they can be checked wiyh an ohm meter. remove the wire and place one lead on the wire connecter of the plug the other to a good ground.you should have good connectivity. if not replace the plug

Sorry you are having a problem. I would doulble check that the idle air connector was plugged in and seated well. It's the square connector below the throttle body. I also supect you missed a vacuum line when reinstalling the Throttle body.

My kia sorento (2004 manual gear)) is having a engine miss with a vibration on to the gear lever. Sometimes the RPM meter goes high & low without accelerating. How to fix the problem urgently


your idle air control motor is messed up needs replaced first test with a voltmeter also check make sure you dont have no vacumm leaks pop the hood listen for a loud sucking noise check all vacumm lines make sure not came unplugged then check aic

2003 kia sorento will not re start after running around town


Engine temperature spikes when a car is shut down and many cars have an extra switch for the electric fan that will turn them on if the temp rises past a certain point.
That switch may have failed, making it necessary to allow the engine to cool off.
Your car may not even be equipped with that feature so I would suggest trying the following: When restarting soon after shutting off, slowly press the accelerator pedal completely to the floor and don't let up on it until the engine fires. Allow at least 20-30 seconds of cranking before giving up on it. The engine may be getting surplus fuel because of a problem with the computer or a 'cold start valve' that lets the engine draw more fuel when cold so starting it 'hot' it may be getting too much fuel to fire (flooding).
