Hi laure..... When this happens the fix is usually to change the A/C relay. It is under the dash to the right of the steering column. If you go to most auto parts stores these days they will change it for you as long as you purchase the part from them. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

I need to know the location of my blower relay. Already changed out the blower resistor, that did not remedy the problem (fan will not come on). Yes, I installed it correctly.

The blower relay is for high speed fan only most of the time . Do you know how to test electrical circuits ? It sure cuts down on buying unneeded parts . Here watch this video , this is a Chrysler vehicle . Don't know what you have , doesn't matter . They all work pretty much the same . I suggest you watch a few other trouble shooting videos as well .Is Chrysler Blower Motor Test subscriber requested video This next vehicle is a GM product , this one uses a relay for high blow only . How to trouble shoot front blower

There are several reasons for a blower to stop working. Does it work on ANY speed? Does the AC compressor lamp or any of the vent control LEDs still work when using the AC controls? Do ANY of the speed for the blower work or are they all dead?

1st, you wanna check your fuses. There will be fuses in the underhood fusebox marked blower or heater fan, check and repalce as necessary. Also, if the earlier check for working LED bulbs on the AC control panel showed some or all lights dont ever turn on when engine is running, you may have problems with the control system.
if the fuses are good, now you need to test parts. there is a blower motor speed control aka blower resistor that frequently fails on most cars. It is the part that carries the current for all speeds of the blower and regulates speed when commanded. It has to absorb the excess energy to lower speeds and it tends to get very hot and burn out as a result. If it has failed, there will be power IN on one of its wires, and no power OUT on any others. If you have no multimeter or testlight to check things like this, Id recommend taking it to a certified mechanic.
If the control lamps all work that means controls have power, if the blower resistor has no power, fuses or blower relay are the most likely cause. if the blower resistor has power but still no fan, most likely your fan has failed. as a general rule, I replace fans and blower resistors as pairs. fans tend to last longer, but they also get more demanding with age (kinda like people) and that extra demand will burn out the newer resistor much faster than when the fan was newer. it can be alot of time and money to change a blower TWICE, so to be sure it wont fail again, test current, or simply replace the blower fan if it is determined a resistor has failed. (a good fan in theory shouldnt draw enough amperage to burn out a good resistor, EVER, so if the resistor burns, the fan is typically drawing too much power, and even though it works "fine", it will burn the next resistor in a short time as well.).

How do i trouble shoot heater not working ford explorer

Find and replace the blower resistor. I believe your resistor is under the hood, passenger side.

Trouble shoot heater fan on a 1996 Plymouth Voyager Van

Check for 12 volt power to resistor under dash on passenger side. Follow wires from under glove box (from blower motor) to resistor, which will be where wires are connected on duct work. You should be able to test for 12 volt DC power there.

Blower fan not working

The resistor bank is bad for slow speeds, the switch is bad for high speed. In your test, you have voltage, but the switch wont carry the amps, to run high speed. Open circuits will not blow fuses. Replace both switch and resistor bank for all speeds. Make sure to clean leaves and trash from fan housing and see if fan spins freely.

Heater blower went out

Normally when the blower motor goes out it has trouble a few days before and cuts in and out so I would check fuses first but I may be wrong and if the fuses are fine the I would change the motor

2006 gmc sierra fan wont work replaced blower resistor still won't work

Check for voltage on the fan itself- if the voltage is there then the fan motor could have cause the resistors to overheat due to it's drawing too much current. Oil the bearings with Tri Flow oil and they will spin much better- the trouble is you need to get the fan out to service it.
You can oil and recondition the Commutator and renew the fan if the brushes are not worn out if you have it on the bench.

I'm having trouble with the A/C blower motor working intermintantly. I've had the fan tested and it's fine. Could there be a vacum hose problem?

The vacuum hose operates the mode selector not the fan. If you lost vacuum you would have only defrost and no other settings but the fan would still work. When the fan doesn't work and you tap on the lower part of the dash board, will it begin to work again? Sometimes blower motors can be intermittent so simply hooking up power to it on a bench and seeing it spin doesn't completely rule it out as the culprit. I would check the connections at the motor, resistor pack and speed control knob. If all checks out it's probably a bad blower motor.

Heater/AC Fan does not work in our 1998 Buick Century

Fan will be under dash on passengers side , Removing glove box might be needed, Gm also uses a blower resister ro control fan speeds. First check your fuse and then check and make sure your getting 12 volts to the terminal at the blower, You could have a blown fuse, a bad switch, or a bad resister , if your getting voltage to blower motor then most likely it will be the motor. These are not to difficult to change. I hope this helps, please be aware I can only guess at what the problem is from my past experience.
