Question about 2005 Jaguar S-Type
Often caused by low battery voltage - quick check = disconnect battery (make sure you have your radio code) leave for 10 mins then refit. follow instructions on dash board information screen. If the brake resets okay - its a battery low voltage fault - if not .......... you have a handbrake module or motor fault.

Hammer and wd40 or some Electrical terminal spray which will get into the system and under any rust formed within it.
Then use PFTE spray available from Tool shops after it is free .
