Radiator Fan will not stop for a long period - over 5 hours! Volkswagen Polo Saloon 2005. Thank you A. Yehia

These cars have a problem with their fan motor assemblies and also the
control module. You need to book into a good repair shop and get this fixed. fans running for 5 hours will do 2 things, 1 it will kill your battery and 2 it could burn out your fan motors. You need to get this checked out.

Fan continuosly run kills battery 2000 jag

Try disconnect the two wires on the thermostatic switch on the radiator and see if that makes the fan switch off. If that is not the problem then it must be the relay for the fan (I take it you mean the radiator fan?)

If it is the heater fan, the problem would most likely be the switch. Here, get too the back of the switch and remove the main supply lead which should make the fan go off. There will not be a relay in that circuit.

How do I change the radiator cooling fan on my rx 400h

by taking it to the dealer. the rx400 is a complicated machine and in some cases very dangerous. if you grab the wrong wire you could have 220v of electricity run through your body and kill you. for things like this you would need to disable the hybrid powertrain via the service plug on the hybrid battery(in the trunk) then take the radiator support off, remove the horn wire harness, unplug the fan controller, move the wire harness out of the way, remove the upper radiator hose, unbolt the 4 10mm bolts holding the fan shroud in place and pull out the fan assembly. be cautious of the orange and yellow wire looms, yellow is the airbag harness and orange is the high voltage harness.

Radiator fan runs when engine is off

some cars do start up the fan when turned off after they have been driven. as long as it is not starting when the engine is cold there is nothing to worry about. the reason it took 15 mins to shut off is that with the engine not running the water is not being pumped
round the engine thus cooling faster. hope this helps

Electric cooling fans run constantly even after vehicle is off

Try diconnecting the two wires on the temp sensor at the bottom of the radiator, you may be able to trace the wires from the fan, it that stops the fan, then replace the sensor and it should be ok
