Cost replace thermostat

all prices. of all things. on earth , vary by
location,
same with taxes, wages , and vast other things.
but now ill guess and say , in usa
a good therostat can be $5 to $12.
i use STANT,
i never use noname clones inside any engine, risking it.

why not go to an autostore online or walk in and ask.
there is no www god that dictates prices, not yet, amen.

How to change the therostat in 1985 chevy ca[rice?

the thermostat is in the housing where the top radiator hose connects to the engine !!!!
1. remove the top radiator hose from the housing
2. remove the bolts that hold the housing together ( be careful NOT to break them off )
3. remove the old thermostat
4. remove the old gasket with a suitable scraper & clean both surfaces of the housing with the scraper or sandpaper
5. fit the new thermostat & new gasket
6. put the housing back together & replace the bolts being careful not to over tighten
7.replace top radiator hose & tighten clamp & fill radiator with water
8. start engine & run to reach normal running temperature & check for leaks
hope this helps......cheers.

to find the thermostat, just follow the upper radiator hose till it ends, which is next to the battery.the thermostat is located right under the metal part that the upper radiator hose is connected to.it has 3 10mm screws holding it in place.just remove these 3 screws and pull it off and bingo, there is your thermostat.i'm sorry but i can't help you with the location of the ecu.hope at least the information i gave you helps.good luck and take care, manny

1991 honda civic, overheats, changed therostat,

you can try this, on the exhaust manifold there is a heat sensor you can replace this or take off the connection and with a small piece of electrical cable strip both ends put into the connection and that will put the fan on , if this fails then the fan itself is at fault [driver87]

If the Therostat housing is mounted on the left front of the engine, unbolt the alternator and it's mounting, then unbolt the vaccum booster pump, this will reveal the mounting bracket to the fuel filter assembly mounting braket, unbolt the supports to the assembly and move to the side. Two bolts hold the therostat inlet ini place.
