Ford error code p0453

This code is set when there is a high voltage reading coming from the fuel tank pressure sensor. It could be a problem with the wiring going to the sensor... or the sensor itself.

I have replaced my mass airflow system just replacedvthe fuel pressure regulator and way to many other parts to remember. there is a code that keeps coming up when i check it at autozone. the code is p0453...

Yes a common GM problem. The fuel tank pressure sensor is malfunctioning. You will have to lower the fuel tank down and you will see a black square device like 1" X1" square. It is held in by a rubber fitting you have to pry it out after disconnecting the wire plug. Make sure you put a little wd-40 on the rubber and sensor when you reinstall it or you may damage the gasket causing the system to leak. Then plug in the electrical plug and put the tank back in place. After a drive cycle is completed the code should clear itself or you can clear the code with a scanner and see if it comes back. Now if it does come back check every connection and hose to the vent canister to see iff there is a bad connector, rubbed thru hose or loose connection. But the connections usually will not give low and high readings if bad just low reading. Hope tghat helps you along, Thanks for asking Fixya.com

Hi!

A P0453 is an EVAP emissions code that refers to the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor. You're going to want to check the wiring & connectors leading to the FTP sensor.

I found an excellent article here with step-by-step procedures to help: P0453
