SOURCE: MR2 DOOR LOCK

sounds like some one tried to break into your vehicle and jammed the door locking rod this would be the most likley guess since you said motor is still working the rod will need to be pulled out and straightened again to factory bend this is critical

and your switch is on the door panel the one that says lock unlock

this is the part that surrounds the lock driver side. Car color is green cary, North Carolina 27513
The solenoid or actuator arm for the door lock assembly is probably not working to full spec.

Hope this helps.

Auto-lock on the doors is the default setting. You dealer should be able to change this setting for you. If your current dealership cannot, then take it to another, presumably better, dealership.

Sorry you need a Toyota mechanic. Sounds like your computer is doing something strange like alarm mode with no sound. I would get it to Toyota dealer. Right now they will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Good luck!

2001 F150 electric door locks don't work. Fuse is OK. Locking just got weaker and weaker. Can hear them trying to lock.

There may be something wrong with door lock motor? I'd have to check for proper voltage and ground circuits. Use a digital multimeter check proper voltage at fuse. The ground is black.

The driver's side door will not lock or unlock via remote control. What is the solution for this? All other doors lock/unlock when remote is used.

is it freezing there? (ice happens)
car drives perfectly day and night? (tells me battery not dead or weak)

does outside metal key work, does inside lock lever work?
if not its frozen inside.

ill assume the 2 mech, ways work and solenoid is dead.
get car serviced?
do you have tools, and skills?
yes/no?

this, its a solenoid. seen below. inside the door.
5003 378AA - 97 keyless entry (electronics,only for 1997)
ZJ jeep
The FOB battery weak can cause this, try both fobs yet.
one door RKE receiver (hidden below) can be weaker or stronger.
and may fail if the RKE (fob) is weak. Rem.key entry=RKE
so a new battery in the fob is a now thing.
22year old FBO battery? hopeless if ever.
ok if the manual doors work ok and only a good fob fails (both)
(car came with 2 so...)
then the problems is below.
here is an example of how complex it can be. and real solutions.
93-97 location. reciever.
Just pry up the defroster grille panel and it will be on the passenger side, held in by 2 screws.
scan the PCM first. looking for RKE errors, BCM errors>?
if 12vdc does not reach the solenoid,
then the Door controller failed or the BCm fail to sen the command or the remote receiver (entry) module never sent it.
my guess is the RER is ok, as it opened other doors.
so that leaves, BCM mess up. or soldenoid bad.

here is the receiver. that is failing, if 2 fresh fobs fail.
fresh batteries.
some green PCB below are in overhead lamp module
others are in door, (sun roof?)

i think this is 1999.

Central locking button not functional and I can't lock the rear door glass

if its just 1 door that wont lock, I would say that the lock mechanism on that door has failed. When you press the central locking , you should hear each door "click" if its only 1 door, remove the door panel to check if any wiring has broken or dislodged. To check the door lock unit, I found it easier to remove it and check with a unit from one the doors that you know does work. If the good one you swapped over works, then that will mean that the lock unit has failed, if the good one doesn't work on that door, then you know it will be a wiring or connection fault to that door.

2002 Toyota Tundra Access Cab. Doors will lock/unlock from keyless remote. So I know the solenoids are good. Doors will lock from switch on door but will not unlock. I pulled the control unit and checked...

im guessing you are saying only the door switch fails on one door?
so it's THAT switch bad ,it's wires or its logic box is bad. (or mis programmed)
you never said what door, driver? ONLY? or ?
the other doors on many cars have parent locks.
so if other than driver, door, check those masters.
do you have the FSM. and working from its diagnostic pages?

Drivers side slider on 2001 Ford Windstar is jammed. How canI get it to open?

The door lock is not working. Operate the remote keypad, the driver's armrest door lock switch, and the overhead switch until you hear the latch work, then open the door. If this approach fails, 10A FUSE 11 in the central junction box may be open or the rear electronic module may have failed. Once you have the door open, apply WD-40 to the mechanical parts of the latch to prevent future problems.

When we use our key fob to lock the doors, i know we must use the key fob to unlock the doors to avoid the alarm from going off. Recently I parked in a parking garage at an airport (left key fob at home)...

You should be able to just unlock the door with the key, and even if the alarm is still going of try to start it the key should override the alarm.

05 tundra, battery went dead with doors locked

The key won't turn in the door lock? Spray some graphite or lubricant into the lock cylinder and work it some. If you have been using the remote all these year and never the key its probably a little rusty.

How to repair locking mechanism on 1999

The locks do not operate with motors. They are individually operated by cylinoid switches which push or pull on the linkages. Older vehicles usually have these to fail in the colder months due to the thicker grease and sludge, etc. It sounds like your main control swithc is operating ok. You will likely have to take off the door panels and lubricate the linkages and switches and put anti corrosion grease (get at electrical supply place) on the wire connections. This will likely solve the problem or you may need to dissasemble and refurbish a switch as needed. If unable to rebuild, you will need to replace it.

good luck
