What is the correct pressure for freon in AC unit and what is the color of the cap where you add the freon?????

The charging port cap is usually blue, The charging fixture hose will not clip onto the wrong port, so you really can't mess that up. the pressure of a system as measured on the low side hose should be about 28-32 PSI with the system stabilized and engine at operating temperature.

Where can I find the low port to recharge my AC on my 2000 chevy blazer

The low pressure port on an AC system is between the evaporator and the compressor. The evaporator is the cooling coil in the dash. I believe you will find an accumulator just on the "out" side of the evaporator. The accumulator is a round aluminum container about 4 in. in diameter and about 7 in tall. It has a tube from the evaporator going in near the top, a tube/hose going from the accum. to the compressor and probably a pressure switch and a charging port. All these items are located around the top of the accumulator. That charging port is the low pressure, (suction side of the compressor). Don't over charge. Use just enough to get cold air from the system. I doubt this system has a sight glass in the tube near the condensor, but if it does, put in just enough refrigerant to where you no longer see bubles going past the sight glass. If this is a cronic leak, you must have the leak repaired. It is aginst the law to recharge AC systems without repairing the leak.

Thanks for using FixYa. Good luck.

I want to know where is the location of an ac low service port?

HI!!
Find the compressor and follow the thicker line/hose coming from it. On an A/C System, the Fat Line is the Suction or Low Pressure Line and the Skinny Line is the Hi Pressure Line. The Low Pressure Service port is usually located by the passenger side fender well next or on top of the filter/receiver/dryer (a metal cylinder device). The Low and Hi pressure service ports are different so there is no way you can hook up wrong the charging hose.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

How do you connect a/c charger to make your central air cooler

The 1998 Dodge Caravan ac should be charged at the low pressure service port. This port is located on the suction line near the compressor. The suction line can be identified by it's size, it being the larger of the two line connected to the compressor. You must purchase a recharge kit at your local part store, which should include charging hose with pressure gauge and a can of R134a freon. Gloves and eye protection should be worn during servicing.(freon can freeze your eyes and cause frost bite to your hands). Connect freon to charging hose, connect charging hose to low pressure service port, open valves and start engine, turn on ac. If compressor won't start it may be required to disconnect the low pressure switch and jump out the connector.

Recharge ac

if you are wanting to recharge your a/c system, need to look for the low side(suction) hose, its the big hose coming off your a/c compressor, follow the hose from the compressor to the firewall and you will find a port that you can connect to and charge your a/c system, make sure you put the right amount in your system, too much or to little and it will not work right.

AC booster recharge hook-up

You can only attach the the recharge hose from the kit to the low side ( A/C service port) and the cap should be blue with a leter L on it. Good luck and follow the instruction and don't over charge the system. With the AC on the coldest setting, use a thermometer in a middle vent. Normal vent temperature readings will vary depending on the (ambient) outside temp. The vent temperature should range from around 42-55 degrees in my experience. If normal gauge readings are obtained and the vent air is cold - STOP don’t overcharge the system. The only proper way to remove refrigerant is with a AC recovery machine so if this is being done at home I can’t emphasize enough not to over charge the system. And actually the best way to insure the proper charge is in a system, is to use an AC machine to recover the R134a and then evacuate and recharge the system with the correct amount. Most cars have the specified amount on a decal under the hood.  Good luck and hope this helps.
